Little reason for people to take this game as the one game that the Xbox One really has to run in 1080p/60fps. I mean, CoD: Ghosts didn't run 1080p/60fps, and this looks more demanding.
Agree with the onion-analogy. I actually made the same point in an article on video game volence. But again, this wasn't about what actually is, it was a thought-experiment.
But yeah, I agree with Blacklash that the conversation is going starting to go a little bit off-rails.
Not to be smug, and I admit that this isn't very relevant, but GT6 selling 2 million says a lot about how much GT can sell. It's at the end of PS3's life cycle, it sold 25% of what GT5 had sold at the time and still it sells better than its main competitor.
Haha, it's so never going to be Legend of Dragoon. Don't know why people still expect it to be.
Though, after writing that I feel like the chances of me eating my own words just got higher. Hmm...
Best case scenario, it's Crash. But typical of these kinds of reveals is that it was something we didn't think about. Like Ace Combat, Red Dead Redemption or something else entirely. (They did say confirmed for PS4, but I'm not quite sure that ha...
@Mr Pumblechook
He said that he was concerned seeing how it's coming out in 2014.
I think it's good that he reports on what he sees, also things that will probably be fixed. I've written a preview or two in which I just looked past glitches and long loading times only to find that they're also in the final game.
I think it should be a report on how the game's coming along, not on how it'll hopefully end up looking. <...
PSP doesn't fail to amaze these days. Still selling in pretty much every part of the world and still getting quality software at least in Japan.
Sony's consoles really do have great longevity.
"I would welcome their 'critical angle' if it was consistent".
Sometimes they don't find anything worthy of critique. Not everyone likes every game equally, so the idea that there must be some balance to which games are criticised makes no sense.
Also, the conclusion of the text is "I'm excited, but...", so if you ever wanted balance, I think there's rarely been a less conclusive judgement. Basically he's saying &qu...
What's wrong with you, FlunkinMonkey? People can't have differing opinions without you dragging up conspiracies?
I welcome IGN's critical angle. Far too often previews are too positive, without the writer taking any time to take a more critical look at the game.
Colin Moriarity was extremely positive to PS4 arounds its launch, so to suggest he's a fanboy is just bs.
"except for evidently being so insecure about his/her co...
AAaaaand apparently I do too. *"Don't need much of a graphics card"
Not sure if Word would pick up on that, though.
No, the Uncharted parallel is pretty decent. They're both cinematic third person shooters, and ReadyAtDawn is full of former Naughty Dogs.
I quite like the nickname "PS4's first Naughty Dog game".
Agree. Admins or moderators could and should be a lot more involved. Not that I imagine most users will welcome that suggestion.
You need spell-check on Microsoft Office.Don't need much of graphics card to do that. Meanwhile, let's all have fun in the sun with whichever platform we choose to play on.
Not sure if anyone here have played Knack, but to refer to it as 60fps is kind of stretch. Huge frame drops quite frequently.
@admiralvic
Why I didn't like the Last of Us =/= Why The Last of Us is Overrated.
You can like something that's overrated. If you think Last of Us is overrated then that's a good title to use.
@thorstein
Well, of course then it's sensationalist, or just a bad use of a title in general. Wouldn't say there's anything inherent about that title bein sensationalist, though.
And oops. I must have ...
Thank you!
I think that since people don't take time to consider what an article is about, that also reinforces the point of having a provokative attention-grabber as a headline. Although, certainly journalists should avoid using sensationalist headlines.
On a sidenote though, how is "Why The Last of Us is Overrated" sensationalist? Sounds like a legitimate opinion, and something that could reflect the author's point, not that I agree with ...
@Shnazzyone
No, but we should reign in Nintendo-doom article that don't make sense, were poorly written or seemed like examples of bad journalism, just like with any article.
If I get you right, you think I'm saying that I want this pro-Nintendo bullcrap gone, and then you're replying that we should remove all the anti-Nintendo bullcrap first. Well, that's kind of a pathetic fanboyish outlook. What I'm saying is simply that we should remove the bul...
Well, I wouldn't say that. It's typical for fantasy settings to have religion as part of their lore, so yeah, you're gonna have some gods in there.
Take Final Fantasy X, though, where you actively fight the religious establishment - even if the game is full of positive religion and mysticism.
In most cases what you're saying would be true, but not really in that one. The article makes some interesting arguments, and while it basically answers its own questions with a "no", this was a more enjoyable read than most.
@Pretty much everone below
There's this new thing the kids are doing (or so I wish) called reading. Look it up.
@Tito08
Wow.
I think Cinema Blend isn't all bad, but could people please rate this down? Just press their name under "Read full story"
N4G should use that feature more actively.
Although I agree split-screen was almost completely absent at the beginning of last generation, it did pick itself up. For instance: Uncharted 3 had split-screen, 2 didn't. Same goes for Killzone, Motorstorm, Ratchet and Clank, - all of which adapted split-screen late into the current generation, and I'm sure there's more.
At the same time huge franchises like Call of Duty, Resistance, Rainbow Six, Gears of War, Forza, Gran Turismo and Halo have all consistently ...
