I don't think they got it this time, either. The five megaton ANNOUNCEMENTS seems like some serious wishful thinking. It could just as well be that they're gonna show five major titles, some of which are already announced. Project Beast, Uncharted 4, Order 1886, Drive Club and ??? would be my guess, and even that is just a guess.
Though, I'm of course hoping they have five major announcements coming. That would be a sensational E3.
When they said it was X1 exclusive, don't you think they meant that in comparison to 360, though? Because split-screen would be hard to pull of on a last gen system anyway?
25 doesn't seem very realistic, seeing how they already have revealed 30 (according to IGN). But yeah, 50 does sound a bit extreme. Still though. Shouldn't be impossible.
I think it's fairly safe to say it's in-engine, but keep in mind that a lot of driving games in particular can end up looking a little jaggy when they're first released. Motorstorm, Forza, GT, etc...
Sure hope they're able to pull this off, though. It looks nuts.
It's amazing how you apparently have learned to write, yet don't know how to read.
Here's what the article actually says about Nintendo and its future. Notice that there is no "Nintendo is doomed" here. They're really just reporting Nintendo's numbers more than anything else.
"Despite such slow growth for the Wii U, Nintendo remains surprisingly optimistic about its future, forecasting an operating profit of 40 billion yen (...
To be fair to the console market. Tablets have gotten really huge, taking a big bite off personal computers. Console market is still pretty big - and with fewer competitors.
Also, Sony had original programming already on PS3, so one would imagine they've got something.
The points about MS's eco system and Sony's finances are both fair and interesting, though, but there is one HUGE issue with this text, and that is lack of referencing. Very typi...
If it is, you're setting the bar for not being "niche" really high.
PS4 is the most sold next-gen system, PS3 is the most common way to watch Netflix, or at least was the last time I heard, and in addition to consoles, PlayStation-certified devices are selling millions. Sony runs huge advertisement campaigns and get plenty of media attention on PlayStation. PlayStation is one the main sponsors of Champions League - on of the world's biggest sports tournament...
Well, PC and Wii was a good combo, at least. Wii U has yet to impress, I think.
Probably mainly Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4.
Killzone and inFamous Second Son have sold well, but according to VGChartz, not as well as those two.
Sadly.
Do as you want :) It is commonly refered to as an indie, and the developer is independent. It's just not really an independent game per se.
Interesting topic.
Some nitpicking:
It's common to refer to Journey as an indie, but technically Journey is not developed independently. The game was published and heavily backed by Sony Computer Entertainment.
Looking forward to Android release!
He said "The real question should be"
So the question was part of a statement.
Also, it's possible to disagree with elements of a post, if not everything.
Anyway, Phil Harrison reports to no man. Man reports to Phil Harrison.
@NewMonday
"Math play", by your definition, is what economists and staticians do.
When they say "polling", do you think they mean asking how the store employees feel about sales?
Of course they're asking what the actual sales numbers are. The word polling is probably used to suggest that the numbers may not be entirely accurate.
Anyway, the results speak for themselves. The margin of error they have o...
They actually do collect data:
http://www.vgchartz.com/met...
I'd suspect the reason they're banned from NeoGAF is that no one can take VGchartz for what it is.
Either they're held as fact or they're held as lies.
They're neither - they're estimates.
Why does this need to be explained every time?
VGchartz is a site that extrapolates real data they gather from a select number of retailers to project sales numbers before they're actually available.
Their margin of error isn't particularly high on consoles and big software releases, but there is, you know, a margin of error, so please always take that in mind. The numbers don't "contradict" anything as they never claimed to have the e...
That's half the point with Kickstarter. Not sure if anyone know this, even though all developers pretty much say it right off the bat, but Kickstarter is often used as proof to investors that the product is popular.
People are absolutely free to feel betrayed, but have no right to get their money back. Sure, it can be upsetting that Facebook of all companies picked them up, but if they didn't expect Oculus to be picked up by an investor they should try this new thing...
Also somewhat off-topic, but has anyone else been getting the impression that a lot of N4G'ers have a need to pretend that everyone takes part in the Xbox/PlayStation fanboy war?
Or do most senior journalists somehow prefer an entertainment box so much to another that they're willing to risk their integrity to write disfavourable of the other box?
Because that last option sounds insane.
?
It is a competition between all kinds of American companies. Monsanto and Bank of America were nominated
People who thought you could assault run every level should try the harder difficulty settings!
Anyway, this is one of the absolute best games of last generation. The microwave hallway was more than sad.
