if they can step up their game as they are apparently doing with Fifa then consumers shouldn't have to complain as much. (Unless the game contains bugs or something.)
Anyway, great to see they are upping the PS3 version's framerate. It's good to know it'll run better than Madden.
According to 1up a gameplay vid should be up soon too for anyone interested.
Now that the beta is on XBL I hope we get even more gameplay videos.
This game looks awesome. I really can't wait for it...I'm loving the perks. Brilliant graphics too.
My intention was not to start a flamewar with that highlight, I just thought it was important to clear up rumours of whether the HD DVD exclusivity was timed or not. As a Blu-ray owner this is definitely not good news, but I think ultimately the line-up of upcoming titles will persuade consumers in deciding their format of choice rather than this decision alone. And I agree, the format war is getting tedious.
I've changed the post so it's clearer.
To sum it up: no editor should let their personal bias affect a review. If they do, they are not good reviewers.
I'm not defending this guy at all, I'm criticizing him if he ripped Warhawk because of his bias.
@Anego: He misunderstood my post. I guess I'll have to be blatantly clear next time.
@Anego: double agree. bubbles for you. I hope this does not happen again.
@king: I think...
Read post #14. He sums what I'm saying up very well.
That's exactly what I tried to say in my first post.
Again, I'm saying that it's stupid if he let his bias influence the Warhawk review, and that he shouldn't have ripped on Home like he did. I'm not commenting on whether his bias led to the review score of Warhawk or not. Personally, I'm waiting for IGN's review.
I'm saying I would hope that people in general would NOT allow their biases to influence reviews.
*sigh* Sadly you're right.
What the hell are you talking about? I'm saying that this would be a poor reason to give Warhawk a bad review.
The editor himself seems totally biased though, I'm not arguing that.
If this influenced the Warhawk review, that is just not acceptable. I'd hope that any editor would not hold their personal biases towards the review marks of games on other systems.
Also, the way he wrote this makes him seem quite unprofessional. He rips on Sony quite aggressively.
Edit: Post #14 -- couldn't agree more.
@below: Clearly I'm criticizing Rob Smith, no one should let their personal preference affect a review.
LOL...well I'm off to bed, hopefully I can sleep without imagining every detail, surprise and shock the game has...
I wonder if anyone will actually read it all. xD
It could be a bug, but it seems that widescreen just gives less FOV, and that isn't too serious of a problem. Resistance in campaign co-op does the same, and it isn't a big problem.
Although it is true that loss of FOV in widescreen generally shouldn't happen. If it becomes a "big" problem I'm sure they'll fix it.
I just wouldn't want to ruin the game by reading it all...
As you can probably guess I avoided putting part of the article here, it's too spolier-filled!
LMFAO!
I wonder if any parents will buy that by accident, after a kid says (s)he wants a "Wii." xD
It's probably beta testers and IGN editors exclusively.
LOL, "WET." No doubt what inspirations this game is taking from.
Simply to be on the safe side, I'm going to cancel my Lair preorder, and switch it to COD4 (which looks mindblowingly awesome) and wait for IGN and other sites to review the final build before deciding if I want it. I'm still hoping that Lair is fixed up a bit in its final build. It seems though that their biggest problem is with the missions.
But with COD4 I have no doubts that Infinity Ward will make an absolute monster of an FPS, and I'm dying to use my FragFX with some more...
That mouse is some pretty crazy stuff. I need a new mouse, might check it out =]
