My PS3 has 4 USB ports, not two, has SD, MM, and CF card slots, can run YDL, and can play PS2 games.
My PS3 isn't just better; it's genetically different.

Silellak is correct. Sony planned to release the PS3 a year sooner than they did, but during internal testing they discovered a flaw that would have dropped quality. Rather than release it as-is, they delayed it for a year until it could be fixed.
MS, ever since they got into this industry, has had one goal and one goal only: Beat Sony. They rushed the release of the 360 so they'd be out before the PS3.

THAT WAS THE MOST BORING F*CKING PRESS CONFERENCE I'VE EVER FOLLOWED. He talked about Fable 3 for almost a f*cking hour! The entire event was two games. That's it. Two. Games. You have got to be sh*tting me!
I stayed up to follow this thing, and all they talked about was Fable 2 and 3. That's it. This is the worse press conference I've ever followed. Ubisoft's notoriously boring E3 press event was better than this.
I am VERY disappointed.
I forgot all about Thexder! Man, this brings back memories. Can't wait to buy this!
