I play PS3 exclusives, and most MP games on my PS3. I play the Witcher series, Bioshock 1, Gears 1, Crysis series, Mass Effect series, AC series, Halo 1/2, UT, various Bethesda games, L4D, TF, portal, MMOs, and several emulators each with their own collections on PC.

In most cases, yes. But, there are a surprising number of kids I know who had been fully writing webpages, modding games, hacking social profiles, etc. by the age of 13. Regardless of how minimal these "hacks" are you know very well what kind of people these kids can turn into.
I remember back in the day when I had a program that could alter nearly any variable in any running program. You just had to know which was which without accidentally crashing everything.
I remember my first time switching out textures, and in some cases, entire levels of a sonic game. Mods for doom, unreal, and the like...

The min specs to run Crysis 3 would run you $400-500 now, Imagine how much that would have been in 2006; something like $2500.
Consoles closed ecosystem allows them to regularly outperform PCs that cost 3x as much at launch. The pricepoint difference is minimized as time moves on and eventually you see a clear difference in quality for a price that is only twice the cost of a console. Go ahead and compare the price of any PC from back in 2005-6 that can still even run today's games lowest settings 720p. You'd be looking at rigs that were $1500+ in those days.

Not quite blue-ray was way ahead of its time, for example the PS3s blue ray drive would support 4k movies with a firmware update...it's just that HDMI port on the system won't.
It will still be blue ray for sure; just a more advanced form of it as BR drives support up 16 layers(400 GB), 14x read speeds, 4k video, etc. Compared to the 2 layer(50GB), 2x read speed drives in the PS3.
Anyone else notice the cosistent presense of strong female lead characters on Vita. This has really suprised me, and I find it to be a step in the right direction. Anyway, glad to see another vita game catching my attention...despite not having enough time to play them all.

E3...LOL. If Sony only announces the PS4 and leave the price and release date for E3 all we will hear about is E3 hype for all these next gen games that are currently slated "only for PS4" or "next gen consoles" for the next 4 months. I don't think so. I wouldn't be surprised is MS has their teaser(not announcement) ready before Feb 20th just to stir the pot.

The pic you posted is using a DX9 renderer(soon to be increased to DX11) with unfinished textures(look at the trees, horse tail, etc.). That game is going to use volumetric clouds, physics for ships at port and sea, an overhauled lighting engine that isn't even in that pic, and 4k support for sure on PC(the last game had its infamous "ubersampling" from that resolution).
It will be my first next gen game if it launches with the consoles.

3x increase...2.44x increase(6 years)

Stop trying to create a correlation where there is none. Your completely ignoring too many variables just comparing resolution.
Take any 2006 PC that can even run Crysis 2, let alone 3, then take a look at its 2006 price tag. Performance per price, PS3 outdoes it 3x over for sure; same thing every generation.

@captain tuttle...It is a well constructed plan. Sony is going to bag the gaming audience by not using it, then sue MS for using it since they think Sony will also use it. If their lawsuit is successful is another thing though.

By "looking" at the die you can determine transistor fabrication process size, frequency, cache sizes, number of cores, general architecture design, size of the die, voltage useage, etc. Which is far more than you'll ever get out of a hardware specs release from a game console company.
Still comparing this to similar PC hardware and what that PC would be capable of is a waste of time just because its a closed environment.
