JK...idk, but could it be in Kansas based on the series history?

I think the touchpad on the dualshock 4 will be great for hotkeying weapons/bottom of screen weapon wheels or other various command inputs.

It could very well be more that just "neat", but an intuitive, useful mechanism that will also free up another traditional buttons role on controller.

At one time dual analog sticks was just a "new way to play games" too.

It's just a matter of if devs put it to good use.

What?

Do you actually think devs want to purposefully cut out possible purchases?

There are a lot of PC games that purposefully target low specs so they can run on everything from a beast rig to a students laptop.

It's never as simple as "we don't want the money of a PC gamer because their running a crap rig." There is a lot of money flowing between hardware and software companies.

I plat'ed this game months ago, without ever summoning anyone.

I initially beat it around SL 80 with 90hrs in.

BTW, the archers in Anor Londo are just cheap. Even having a Demons Souls plat and knowing the game mechanics damn well, it still took me 5 attempts.

And how is giving a noob an OP weapon like a fully leveled Drake Sword going to help? All that does is promote button mashing.

"Uncharted 3 took up 85gigs on Bluray"

PS3 BR disks only hold 50 GB of data. U3 plus all of it's DLC was ~43GB. If you downloaded the bundle off of PSN you would need ~85GB to download and install.

I agree with your sentiment that things will be put to good use, but your statement was incorrect.

P.S. Any ambitious dev will never be spoiled, the best of the best enjoy a challenge.

DDR3 has lower latency, but that is only really beneficial for CPUs that are heavily multitasking as different applications fight over threads/cores.

Seeing as the PS4 CPU has 8 cores and a streamlined OS, this really shouldn't be a problem.

APU capabilities while gaming are very sensitive to memory clock speeds. Note that these are separate from core clock speeds.

Common memory clock speeds for DDR3 RAM are in the 1-2GHz range. Common ...

By the same argument PC never does anything new either...come on man, it's all about increasing the scale of things, always has been.

The PS4's GPU is DISCRETE on the APU die. It outperforms the next best discrete GPU (the 7660D in the A-10 5800K) by nearly 3x.

If you really want to know what's not a graphical monstrosity look at the average PC exclusive...WoW, LoL, MMO's, RTS's, and an occasional graphical FPS.

Funny how...

So your laptop either has a 7970M or a 680M.

Gaming laptops aren't reliable enough to be spending $1200 on. Most I've spent on one a laptop was $800. Too much heat, too heavy, not enough battery life...ultimately self defeating.

Low end cards hold their value better, but I wouldn't suggest SLI unless you have money to throw around, and can't wait.

Since when did $1200 become mid-range anyway?

The Cell processor alone has 89.6 GFLOPS double precision and 179.2 GFLOPS single precision.

The RSX has 176 GFLOPS.

The PS4 GPU has 1.84 TFLOPS single precision.

The CPU FLOPS count is unknown, but should be around 150 GFLOPS (don't try and compare it to the Cell, it's a different architecture with different intentions in implementation).

It's really closer to a ~6x difference in FLOP count.

I wo...

Dude...the PS4 GPU is on the APU die, so no matter what you say it's a customized chip. There is not a single comparable discrete, on APU die, GPU avalible.

The next best on APU die GPU is a 7660D used in the A-10 5800k. With only ~1/3 the power.

Not to say that their won't be more powerful chips, there is just nothing that is comparable in structure and power for the time being.

The final dev kits have 16 GB, but they usually cost upwards of $15-20k. Mostly for licensing and such mind you, not the actual hardware, but the developers still design around what they expect the consumer hardware to have available.

Look at sales, game size (GB), if it's available on PSN, age, and PS+ in both US and UK. You'll get a good idea of whats coming.

I enjoyed Enslaved. It had a lot of potential, but even so it was still severely lacking in some departments, while the other parts were decent, they fell short of making up for it fully.

Honestly, out of my collection of 70 PS3 games it would be my 50th suggestion.

You have to realize that case fans of that size must be mounted on the side panel and often in a custom manner.

You would need a cube or elongated case for two of them.

There are a couple companies that make 250mm fans. They push out ~100 CFM but the still run around 20dBA even running only 800 RPM, require a 4 pin connector, and cost $25.

You can get a 120mm, 2000 RPM, 70 CFM, 20dBA, 3 pin fan for $10.

A little overgeneralized, but admittedly there are a lot of female LBP players compared to the average game's F/M ratio.

Still want a 3D LBP on PS4 so bad, I really hope they don't drop the series name and style...it has such a wide appeal and a perfectly creative, inspiring atmosphere.

That depends on the price, the best PC APUs (A10-5800k) cost ~$130 for consumers.

The PS4 APU = two APUs - their discrete graphics + 1 larger discrete graphics chip and probably costs ~$200-250 to manufacture and should be ~60% of the price. It's a system on a chip (SOC).

I wouldn't be surprised if the 720 took the closest route possible and has a 8 core APU built from 2 smaller APUs as well.
