You can hear the lower bitrate in her VO, it almost sounds as washed out as some PS1 games. Whoever recorded her already messed up right there. Just hearing the quality of the recording compared to the rest, any competent director would want to redo it. Something tells me they gave her and the rest of that recording team no time with her.

Still, I don't see the problem with her VO aside from the shitty recording. She's subdued and laid back compared to the rest, alm...

3 isn't a 6. 1 through 5 is more like A through F grades. Once you look at scores in that way, it all makes sense. So 3 is actually closer to 7. I mean, why give two whole numbers for a 2/10 and a 4/10? They're both bad enough to just be 1s. I feel like I'm in Community right now.

More like halfdick suit. You won't look like a complete tool wearing the suit, but a big honkin VR headset will take you the whole way.

This is why they take months to make one car. Most of the time I'm playing this I'm just gonna be admiring these cars, inside and out, with foveated rendering.

Now we get to play as Norman Reedus's body. We have to make sure his heart keeps beating, his lungs keep breathing, his gut keeps digesting, his pooper keeps pooping, his mind keeps minding, etc.

Yeah. One minute everyone, including journalists, are complaining about open world bloat. And now we're already complaining about linear games. It's not like there's even been enough linear games releasing recently for fatigue to settle in. If that's even a thing. I suppose if there's too much backtracking, reused levels, etc., then sure, that gets tiresome. But just linear? Nah. I'll take a tight, linear experience over a meandering open world with the same boring act...

That's pretty much what they did with the rest of the games on PC.

I can't imagine playing God of War Ragnarok on offset sticks. It's so useful being able to use the D-Pad and the sticks at the same time. I don't even have to use the claw for the down and right D-Pads, just the tip of my thumb while I'm still moving around with the stick. Now I'm imagining playing on a Wii-U design, with both sticks up top, meaning I also can't dodge and have Atreus shoot arrows while using the right stick.

@Crows: This is set in the 1800s and Charles is a half black, half native person. There's context for how he might have it harder than the average person...

Named Pocahontas and claiming one native character defines them all. Nice bait. On the real, Charles isn't a new character, we know him. Most people thought he was pretty cool, one of my personal favorites from the gang. Keep that characterization and don't for some reason turn him into Conner and it should be fine. Of course, if they do that, they're gonna lay it heavy how much disrespect Charles is gonna get from everyday, prejudiced folk. And I don't think folk like you can...

Smooth frame pacing is the most important thing and plenty of devs keep missing this mark.

Also that just cause his game's gonna blow the first out of the water in almost every department, that doesn't diminish what the first achieved. They had to lay the ground work in the first game for this game to be what it is. It seems like they saw every complaint people had about a near perfect game and they went about addressing it all. So if the story holds up, it should no doubt be a better game than the first, and that shouldn't take anything away from first.

I don't think people want to lug around a controller and a tablet.

I mean, the previous game already had enemies that would power up mid-battle. The reason that system works for SOM is cause it's open world with fast movement, stealth, and simple reactive button mashy combat. They spice it up by requiring different approaches for certain enemies and you can easily catch up to one if they're fleeing.

GOW's combat is much more complicated and a lot of the enemies already sort of require different approaches. I just don't see ...

Lmao. That would cost billions. We won't have anything like that until we have actual AI saying and doing those things. It's just not feasible for every game to do this.

@AKS: I posted the literal definition of satire... Don't tell me what you think it is. I even posted what George Carlin thought comedy should be used for, which gives fuller context to an out of context, irreverent sounding quote that everybody loved. But they didn't like it when I proved that George Carlin went against their narrative. He's spinning in his grave knowing so many people literally just use a few select quotes to try to prove a point he spent his whole career speakin...

Reminds me of Chappelle claiming it's all white people trying to create reasons to be offended and turn the tables on him, so they become trans to have that on him, completely disregarding black trans folk who get it literally the worst out of anybody. Cops have literally laughed off their interactions with trans people who call about being assaulted and they simply don't investigate the cases. That's what happens when you treat the person themself li...

@solitariussaint:

Also Carlin: “Comedy has traditionally picked on people in power, people who abuse their power,” he says. “Women and gays and immigrants, to my way of thinking, are underdogs.”
