@Unspoken: Sony's Phones actually do well in Asian markets, that's why Sony's still making them, because people are buying them. MS also had a smartphone division. Had.
They can't do a digital release only since they'd piss off a huge part of the world that don't have access to internet, have slow internet, or data caps. Apparently this game is gonna take two blu-ray discs so who knows how big its gonna be.
The memory can't be a clean 1TB with 12 controllers. It has to be some factor of 825, so you can either have 825GB, twice that amount and up from there only. The console would be crazy expensive if it came with a 1.65TB SSD instead.
There's a factor you're missing in that 35 million gamers hypothetical, many people buy multiple games. So we don't know what the breakdown is for how many different people actually bought these games. Still probably a lot but it's definitely not 1:1.
And it's Dreams. Someone can remix this and add whatever they want. FPS mechanics, Zombies, waifus, zombie waifus. Probably a ton of dying Warios if I'm being honest.
They need to start building teams for this since next-gen is where VR's gonna really start to flourish.
@SickSinceSix:
True, but there's a difference between being someone's dad and being their father, if that makes sense.
He wasn't raising a child, though. And he put his bloodthirsty ambitions above his duties as a father the first time around, which didn't make him much of a father. Especially since, you know, he killed his wife and daughter.
Yup. Being able to jump into a specific save or jumping into multiplayer or even into a specific game mode or match all from the OS. Imagine that.
People who've used it said it was very comfortable. It was also a great self defense weapon.
The power difference is the smallest it's ever been between two competing consoles. It's only 15%. The PS4 and XBO had a power differential of 40%. So we'll just have to wait and see what 15% more power does for a game. And we'll also have to wait for what an SSD that's twice as fast will do too.
@Sinspirit: I heard higher clock rates are more useful than more CUs cause most devs hardly ever make full use of the many CUs a GPU can have, but the CUs that are in use will benefit from a higher clock rate. I feel this could change as the generation goes by though, as devs learn to make full use of the XSX CUs, and the PS5's for that matter, if they haven't made full use of those either.
@CaptainOmega:
How would the Series S be more similar to the PS5 when the Series X is already so similar? The power difference is literally 15%. That's the smallest difference between any two competing consoles ever. Is MS really gonna make a slightly less powerful console just because?
The PS3 was a ton of bang for your buck, though. It came stock with a blu ray player! Those things were $1000 at the time. On a side note, why would anybody buy a $1000 blu ray player when the $600 PS3 exists and it plays Ridge Racer and other games? But yeah Sony definitely learned cause the other major issue was that 3rd party devs hated developing for it and they made sure to never make that mistake again.
How much do you get to mess with the hardware?
There's a ton of reasons why those weaker consoles sold less, though, and almost none of it really had to do with power. And the PS3 was more powerful, but it generally had the lesser multiplats which is where most people would see the difference in power.
Games right now have a ton of duplicated files on the HDD because the game has to constantly pull them at different points in the game due to slow loading. With the SSD, they don't need to duplicate anything because they can pull those assets much faster or instantly. This should reduce file game sizes. Both consoles also use powerful decompression tech that should be able to make a lot of files smaller as well.
@Rainslacker:
I actually saw someone else on another forum talk about it and it blew my mind. I know SSM were squeezing every little bit out of the PS4 to have GOW be seamless and to have the epic moments it has, but I know they wanted to do more. Who doesn't wanna do more? The PS5 is gonna let them do so much more. There's a moment in the original God of War where one character throws something across the world and it hits Kratos. This was all in a cutscene and I...
He knows gamers are gonna watch it and he was obviously gonna have to talk about how to expand storage if the SSD was such a big part of the talk.
@Unspoken: The 360 had a mic jack, not a headphone jack. The DS4 was the first to have a headphone jack. So you've got it completely backwards.
