Lol. This guy wants to spend all of his time aiming his webshots, something none of the Spiderman games have done because that would be terrible. This game has the most complex swinging mechanics out of any Spiderman game, it's almost Portal-esque in how you can use momentum in various ways, but keep believing it's not amazing. If it were multiplat you'd be all over it.

Sure, there's heroes and villains more powerful than Spiderman, but those are singular heroes and villains. What makes Spiderman and Batman games compelling is that basic enemies can hurt them. What's a Superman game gonna be like? Superman fights only the strongest characters? Is it gonna be a boss rush game then? Will there even be basic enemies to fight like there is in most other games? And will fighting those basic enemies even be fun?

Maybe an MGU, but there's so many iterations of characters and plot points that a single MGU might not suffice. And not every character can have a game. Spiderman translates so well into gaming due to how fun it is to just swing around, and his powers lend to a lot of fun possibilities for combat. Compare that to Captain America or Iron Man. Flying around as Iron Man won't be as fun as swinging around and the combat will largely be shooter based with figh...
Yeah, but Nintendo regularly reinvents the wheel with their main IPs. Just look at BOTW. Do you think any of MS's IPs can be that innovative without being a completely different game? And will people take to it? Fans are gonna have to be okay with Halo, Gears, Fable, or Forza not feeling like their traditional selves. They do this a bit with Halo Wars, Forza Horizon, and the canceled Fable Legends, but they have to not cancel their games and allow even more diversity in design for them to...

It's just an unfinished game that costs $60. I want to like the game and I want to be excited for what MS brings, that means more games for me to play. Get it? That means more competition for Sony and Nintendo, and that means better games from them. And it's like you said, it's just a game. Stop getting hurt over people talking crap about a game. But atleast if people talk crap about it, MS might get the memo that they're running their studios to...
There's practical applications for centering the camera closer on your characters. They're your characters and you may wanna see how they act in every situation and it brings you closer to the action.
And they only have two games with the camera that close, TLOU and GOW. MS has their own game that's shorthanded to GOW that uses it, as well as Quantum Break. Uncharted, Infamous, etc. Have typically been pretty zoomed out or can be and only get up close when its n...

The hype can explain the sales. The game itself will explain the reviews. Hence Sea of Thieves, No Man's Sky, basically any game that missed expectations by a long shot but still sold well based on hype.
And yes, I will be saying the same about God of War when it releases. The hype (and the fact GOW is a huge franchise) will be behind the sales. But you know what's different about God of War? The previews have been amazing and it looks li...
We have Dreams too. People are sleeping on it but it can seriously blow up after people start talking about and streaming it after release. But I have a feeling it's gonna flop at first because Sony apparently doesn't know that they have a seriously important piece of tech with Dreams, and they're not advertising it right.
I don't see what being open world has to do with it. It's how they fill the open world with the same filler that's the problem. Someone can conceivably create an open world game where everything you do feels fresh and exciting, it's just super hard to do so.

Yes you can. The built in music suite is actually pretty complex, but it's probably not on the same level as Logic Pro.
You and me both. If you wanted the same amount of functionality on PC/Mac, you'd be paying thousands. Dreams will cost $60 (PS4, camera, and optional move controllers not included but it still ends up being less).
I think this is genuinely gonna change how a lot of people create things. Devs and filmmakers probably won't use Dreams to make their games and films, but they'll definitely use it to create prototypes, concept art, etc. It might help make devs and fi...
Your loss. This game is groundbreaking. Devs are looking at it in awe at how fast going from sketching to having a nice looking game can be. They might not ever use the tech directly to make games as I'm sure they'd prefer to have an engine that they can custom tune to do what they want, but to create a character? Maybe design a prototype using Dreams? Or designing levels in Dreams to get a picture of how everything will be laid out. Definitely.
And if you're th...
Bro. You don't even know the half of it. This game is doing some insane stuff. They have literal music making software built in, the easiest and most intuitive creation tools, etc.
Probably changed direction and probably was working on different games that fell through before settling on SoT.
Whatever they decide they should have... Damn. You're in too deep son, how much are they paying you? Lol. You're implying that you'd be okay with anything they do, and they've tried to do a lot.
The reason this can be a problem is because of the mass confusion it'll cause when parents buy their kids games that don't work on the console that all the other games work for. They're gonna have to be really clever with how they market and display these...
Maybe to you. Games like these are what I've always wanted. Historically accurate, realistic RPGs with the freedom of Skyrim? Sign me the hell up. Now I want more with different settings and characters, like Vikings, Samurai, Romans, etc. Just cause it might have some jank doesn't bother me since it's impossible to make realistic combat look good in a game. I don't know if you've been in or seen a real fight, they're not that pretty or that much fun either.
@bluefox
It is a fact. It is inevitable. If you can't see it, then you're just not very good at seeing market realities. You've got good old days video game glasses on. Times are changing and digital is taking over. First, it was E-Books. Sure, it hasn't really taken off and been a big blow to book chains, but the public's general disinterest in books has already been a big blow to book chains. Then it was YouTube and Netflix. Look at what they're do...

The PS3 is around 85 million. Last we heard about 360 was a few million less. The PS3 was also on the market for a year less, so it got more sales in less time too.
