To be fair, the reason the Wii U is lacking in games right now is "because" Nintendo are sticking with that philosophy .

The fact that an article like this is even needed to sway opinion just helps highlight the fact that the Xbone in it's current form is not worth buying.

Of course I would like to buy the Xbone but the unnecessary restrictions over shadow any of the positives IMO

If you're not in the know then let me explain what this is all about.

The reason so many people want Xbox fans to switch to the PS4 or the Wii U, or heck even the PC, is because we are concerned that if MS's Xbone succeeds then the anti consumer restrictions and intrusive surveillance DRM they wish to implement will become the norm, and nobody that calls themselves a "gamer" would want that, even if it meant them passing on a console they want in order to st...

I'll admit it, I did chuckle a little.

I know this isn't exactly the kind of symbolism that can "rally the troops" but with all these little jabs at MS and their current strategy with the Xbone popping up all over the interwebs, you'd think it must be making them reconsider, or at least consider reconsidering all the anti consumer restrictions they plan to implement... Something like that anyway.

I seriously hope not... Once games make the transfer completely over to digital then the issue of ownership will be even more prominent.

I do know it makes some sense for have games to become solely digital downloads, but publishers time and time again prove themselves to be un-trustworthy and out of touch with their consumer base, also limiting the distribution of software to that of only the developer (i.e. exactly what MS wants to do with the Xbone) is akin to inviting a w...

Since it's coming to the PS3 and 360, I doubt that the Wii U's architecture is the issue.

It baffles me also. If you're going to be exclusive to one console then fair enough, but when you have 3 consoles out there that are more than capable of supporting a game then not developing for one is just limiting your consumer base.

The thing that gets me the most is that the PS4 and Xbone don't even have an install base yet, why choose to develop exclusively for current gene consoles that aren't even out, and then choose to compleatly pass over the one that a...

Im gonna go with vampires based on the fact the "enemy" were attacking at night and all.

Some new decent vampire games may help us get out of this ridiculous sparkly pretty boy phase we're having to endure.

Don't forget about the invasive, restrictive DRM, mandatory second hand game fees, 24 hour online authentication, Kinetic 2 listening and watching you, and all games must be installed on your hard drive before you are allowed to play them.

Same here lol, oh well at least we know it's finally coming.

Always wanted the blue bomber in a smash bro's game, so I couldn't be happier.

It's useless to try to reason with him, that guy is either a troll or a shill.

The best thing we can hope do now is help inform others by explaining how restrictive and invasive the Xbone is, and of the potential damage that may be caused to our favourite hobby if MS where to succeed.

4606d ago 11 agree3 disagreeView comment

Oh don't worry, we will succeed.

Even if MS gain a significant install base by taking advantage of the ignorant and/or misinformed, the restrictions imposed on these early adopters will be more than enough to turn them against MS's disastrous new direction, and spur them onto warning others they know to not fall into the same trap.

Xboxshun all the way.

As much as I'm starting to dislike the shere spectacle of it, the E3 Press Conferences is still relevant IMO.

It's damn more relevant the than the Spike VGAs anyhow.

@Belking

Honesty? do you understand what you're saying?

Of course Gamestop make a profit off of someone else's work... so do bookstores, car dealers, music stores and comic book/manga shops, should they all get closed down because they profit off of the original creator? no! because they are a sales outlet that helps generate "sales"

Gamestop may be a bad example of a game retailer, but most are forced to sell second hand ga...

I don't agree with anything MS are doing... and honestly I'm one who always likes to try and play "devils advocate" but I can't this time, I just can't.

There is literally no way to defend MS's actions, the Xbone is "restrictive" and "intrusive" You want to plug in and play games? sorry need to install them 1st, you have spotty Internet? sorry you need to be online so we can verify you aren't a criminal every 24 hours, you...
