We already know what happened, Nintendo just need to get their act together and start delivering on those games they've been promising.

Well I know a whole bunch of girl gamers so that's really not that shocking to me.

The Xbox One is $499 because MS wants to force the Kinect 2 into everyone's home, if only they would make the purchase of Kinect 2 compulsory then they mite be able to compete with the PS4 price wise.

Exactly! I mite actually be willing to purchase a console with inferior specs if cloud computing could considerably improve the gaming experience beyond that of typical console gaming, but until MS are willing to show actual proof of this then I'm calling BS on the whole thing.

I'm not so sure about that, I mean do enjoy handheld gaming but I still think I prefer gaming on a big screen.

I do agree though that HD is killing gaming, but that's due to publishers emphasising graphics above all else, we already know we don't need photo realistic graphics to feel immersed playing games but it's easier for publishers and developers to make things look pretty then it is to give them depth and meaning.

Exactly, it's insane the amount some publishers spend on AAA game production and marketing, especially when you see small indie devs out selling them when only spending a fraction of the cost on developing their game.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my blog.

Publishers have sacrificed more than enough development studios due to their current poor business structure, it's high time they got their act together and stopped looking for scapegoats.

I agree, during those times the industry was still finding its feet and had not yet entered the "mainstream" We were still seeing all sorts of interesting and original new IPs being developed and publishers weren't so scared of taking risks.

An industry crash is unlikely to happen anytime soon, but a can see a major change coming as gamers start becoming less ignorant and tolerant towards publishers and their poor business structure.

Publishers know they have us gamers right where they want us, most of us don't want to loose our favourite franchises so we end up just tolerating them getting watered down and made more accessible.

The best thing we can do is stop purchasing games that we know have been watered down, casualised and/or have designed for mass appeal, even if we end up loosing franchises we enjoy the publishers will eventually have no choice but to develop games that cater to a core audienc...

Thanks for commenting!

Handheld gaming is certainly gaining in popularity largely due to it having more original titles to choose from, but there's honestly nothing stopping publishers from ruining that the same way they have with AAA console titles, the problem needs to be dealt with at the root otherwise I think the issue will just continue to rear its ugly head.

Just how many times have they made SFIV anyway? this has got to be like the 5th or 6th time at least...

Not sure if you're trolling but, no what you just said is absolute nonsense.

On more than one account Microsoft have been caught spying on people, and must I remind you we only just heard about a month ago that they were caught listening on on peoples conversations over Skype?

Tell me, just why are Microsoft be in with the NSA if not in order to collect consumers personal data to pass on for profit.

Exactly! I've been waiting on a new Breath of fire, Onimusha or Dino Crisis for years...

Capcom have so many great franchises, maybe if they started taking advantage of this by making decent games out of them instead of outsourcing and creating generic trash they wouldn't be in such a poor state.

Great blog! I had only just heard about this the other day, still have my face in my palm now...

Honestly these kinds of fanboys are the reason console gaming has become so elitist and exclusionary, it once was that you could pop a game in the disc tray and away you go, but nope now you need online patches, online passes, Xbox Live Gold if you're foolish enough to pay to play a portion of something you already own, and now they want to to stop you playing games all togeth...

If not it then it bloody well should be!

They've got to to be kidding... right? Who in the right mind actually wants restrictive & invasive DRM?

4576d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

As much as I do love the classics, Nintendo definitely needs more new franchises.

I still can't take her seriously, maybe it's all the misinformation, distortion of facts and blatant lies, I donno something like that...

Anyway TLOU did a good job in having a female support character be not just some piece of eye candy for gamers to gawk at, and even made many people feel sympathetic towards Ellie. Still the fact that there are no non infected female enemies that you encounter outside of scripted events does kind of highlight that we have further to...

Nope, but I'd like to try it out at least once because like I said I like the concept.

It's been through this site a number of times in the past but went by its Japanese title "Toki Towa" instead.

The game got some pretty bad review scores from import reviewers back then too so this was no surprise really.
