Exactly, so why are they still around when so many better devs have gone the way of the Dodo?
It just strikes me as a little odd, I mean they aren't bad devs but they haven't done anything that would justify their company getting a free pass to continue developing games.
Whoa whoa whoa! hold the damn phone there, gamers played the victim? no, that's just not true.
NT received abuse because they chose to upset an established fanbase by butchering DMC, insulting the original developer, the established cannon and the fanbase! I already commented months ago about how stupid and childish those gamers were for sending death threats and spout constant abuse, but NT played the victim here by milking the abuse for sympathy.
And it...
Just how are NT still afloat anyway?
Any other developer would have gone into liquidation by now, but here we have a dev team with one pretty decent game and two disappointing flops under their belt yet they're still going strong. I can understand keeping a talented studio afloat but NT have yet to truly prove themselves competent developers, what's going on here?
@tiffac008
Haha yeah it certainly seems that way ;)
Honestly, the guy/girl seems to just be bashing anything Sony related (sigh)... I hope oneday gamers look back on this stupid console war and wonder why they ever wasted their time trolling the Internet and defending/bashing pubs/devs that don't give two sh*ts about them or their opinions.
Just to let you know I've reported you, so you can choose to stop trolling N4G now or loose yet another account.
Everybody needs to just ignore PersonaPersons today, it's just a new troll account.
I think you must be doing it wrong
/s :P
Because they are fun and entertaining.
I really don't think there is much more to it than that, but hey I can't speak for everyone.
To be fair this whole subject is a bit ridiculous.
Sure we know there are "gamer gurlz" that really are just looking for attention but, there are still plenty of genuine girl gamers that have as much right to game as you and I without having to tolerate an onslaught of childish abuse due to purely to their gender.
Really? wow, I mean I know it starts slow but that game is anything but boring.
If you think about it, it kinda is...
Shenmue 1 & 2 even after selling rather well never made a sufficient profit due to the sheer size and cost of the project, sadly because of this the franchise got shelved and well you know the rest :/
Shemue was ahead of its time, even to this day there are few games that can rival its depth and freedom to explore.
Ditto! :D
And no worries I often forget to comment myself, I'll have to start commenting on blogs and user reviews more often too.
Congrats!
I enjoy reading your blog/user reviews even if I don't always comment on them ;)
OMG I actually won something O.O
Thanks! glad you liked my user review.
I doubt DMC is dead for good, but then again Capcom have been sitting on perfectly good franchises like Breath of Fire, Onimusha, Power Stone and Mega Man for a long time. So yeah it's kinda up in the air right now.
Holding gaming back? what makes you say that?
First of all the original Dante was no "Emo" he was way too happy and jovial, also simply wearing Gothic attire does not make one an "Emo" Secondly the new DmC brought nothing "new" to the series except for a very linear platforming mechanic so that's hardly a reason for the franchise to go on as is.
In the end the fans spoke with their wallets, most people didn't like the n...
This was inevitable... Sorry but NT's attempt at rebooting DMC was not what the franchise needed, the game flopped hard just like many fans of the original games knew it would.
I only hope now that the franchise isn't shelved for good, and if we ever do get another reboot of DMC the devs should stick closer to the series roots IMO.
Why would they? Nintendo is not compeating with Sony or MS, they are doing their own thing like they always have.
It's a shame this game turned out so awfull, I like the concept of blending HD anime characters in with gameplay and would really like to see it better executed.
