At the very least, they're finally getting the damn 13 series over with...
@SexyGamerDude
You have it completely wrong...
Yes Squenix may be trying to appeal to their core fanbase, but those fans are certainly not the Japanese, from the moment FF 13 was announced Wada the CEO of Square Enix at the time stated that they wanted to "Westernise" their IPs in hopes of appealing to a "wider audience"
However the biggest complaint about FF 13 is it just doesn't feel like a JRPG anymore, the combat h...
Wow! umm Sony is Japanese -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Not sute if you're trolling or genuinly an idiot...
@SexyGamerDude:
Honestly, now you're just being childish...
Look, a popular Japanese franchise selling well in Japan is a given, I never said that FF 13 doesn't have (any) appeal, it's just incredibly shallow and linear when compared to the previous instalments and most other "better" JRPG's, why even argue about it? the majority of FF fans have stated this much for years, yet contrarians like yourself always have to defend mediocre ...
Thanks guys I see it now, can't beleive I missed it actually.
@SexyGamerDude
I honestly couldn't give a damn what they think.
I'm not the only one who feels that Squenix are a sad, pathetic, disgraceful shadow of their former selves, but hey if you enjoy supporting mediocrity so much have fun playing FF 13 Lightning returns.
The cinemtics and cutscenes look great, I don't think I actually saw any gameplay though...
I can think of "24" reasons why Konami chose Kiefer Sutherland to voice Snake in MGS V...
I used to love SquareSoft back in the day, but since the merger with Enix and release of FF 13 I've developed a deep seated hatred toward Square Enix...
See that's exactly my point, games are supposed to be challenging so there's a sense of having actually achieved something yourself when you finally finish them.
Gamers these days will probably never get to feel like they actually beat a game, especially when old gems like Super Metroid make them quit 10 mins in.

But it is different from looking at a guide (unless we're talking puzzles and stuff) because even after l...
But why would anybody even need it though? I mean God forbid we actually progress through a game using our own skill gained through practice, trial and error.
This is the problem with games today, they're so insultingly easy and lack any sense of challenge that you may as well watch somebody else play them, we don't beat games anymore, we just experience them... and that's just sad.

No problem.
Well to be honest I'm just a "now and then blogger" myself, but I have been considering taking up gaming journalism as a profession.
Anyway, if I had any advice for you it would be that a little research goes a long way, great articles can lose much of their credibility when certain facts/information is off, Sites like Wiki are a good place to go if you need to quickly double check certain things, i.e, checking to see who published ...
It's with a sad sense of irony that Remember Me seems destined to be all too forgettable.
A great idea that unfortunately never tried to strive for much beyond just that...
Yeah but all the reviews so far are still pre-embargo, I would advise waiting until the embargo lifts and the real reviews pour in before making final judgements.
Not to be an arsehole or anything but, didn't DmC Devil may cry get quite a few 10/10's from early reviewers? and look how that turned out.
I'm just saying we shouldn't always blindly trust review scores, it's not like we don't get bunt often enough right?.
And with that being said, I do think TLoU looks awesome but a little cautious optimism never hurt anyone.

Good blog, always happy to see gamers are still picking up Shadow of the Colossus for the 1st time and enjoying it.
I do have a few minor corrections though, Shadow of the Colossus and Ico where in fact developed by Team Ico and published by SCE, also Shadow of the Colossus is the follow up game to Ico, although both games chronological settings are debatable.
To the other half actually considering purchasing the Xbone I have one question, why!?
If you like Super Metroid then I would definitely recommend Metroid Fusion, Fusion is a call back to the good ol side scrolling/exploration gameplay that made Super Metroid such a fantastic classic.
£90.00 for an Xbox One game?, how the hell are MS gonna try and justify that?! no matter what anybody says, if the average person can't afford to game then the platform is doomed.
Because people just won't stop buying the damn things...
