Say what you will about Wii U, but it is the most core system Nintendo has released in a long time. Gamers wanted an HD console with more core focused games and ditch motion controls for a more traditional controller. Nintendo did exactly that.
"theirs allot more iphones than a 3DS buddy."
And there's a lot more computers than every console in existence. Doesn't seem to stop consoles from selling millions.
No wonder the 3DS is struggling in sales, it's so underpowered...
Oh wait.
All my consoles except my Wii and Wii U are horizontal.
Sony is probably saving on the early development costs and using that money toward games or gaming-related features, as they figure the features can be added later with firmware updates.
PS3 and PSN were peanuts at the earlier years but more features were added throughout the later years like Trophies, PS1 and PS2 classics, dynamic themes, and a whole laundry list of other features I simply can't bother to list.
I remember when everyone trashed the Xbox O...
A Nintendo console selling better than you wanted is "basically irrelevant."
Same with much of PS4 and Xbox One sales.
My PS4 hasn't crashed once because I don't play BF4.
For Wii U to be a primary console for most gamers it will need a lot of variety of games, strong third party support, a robust online platform (NN is new so it deserves some grace) and also being the widely used console within your social circle. This currently isn't the situation.
In my case it's a secondary platform, but that is because I only have one primary platform, and that is my PC. If I was a console gamer I would consider my PS4 my primary platform while everything else secondary.
My primary handheld console is my 3DS though.
This score translates to 8.5 on a X/10 scale. Don't see how it's a bad score. I've seen less.
The Last of Us isn't a PS4 game. He wants a new IP for the PS4.
I would love to see a ND collection for PS4 with TLOU, the PS3 Uncharted games, maybe even the Jak HD remasters. 7 classics for 50 dollars, each game costing less than $10 a piece, all running in 1080p. Hopefully Sony will do something similar to this in a few years when the PS3 dies down.
The PS3 has the largest amount of niche games of the generation. The Wii had plenty of them as well. Niche in my books is one of the best when it comes to games.
Bring on X for the Wii U!
At this point it is, probably always will be. Not a bad thing though. Dreamcast, GameCube, Neo Geo, etc. make good examples.
Nobody here suggested the Wii U outsold PS4/Xbox One. The article simply points out the rise of Wii U sales "increased by more than 340 percent over sales in October."
No need to spin an article into something it isn't.
It would be nice to release some "Naughty Dog Collection" in the future with TLOU, the Uncharted games and if you will, the Jak games if they're going to release this on PS4. $60 would buy 7 classics, less than $10 per game.
Actually Xbox One is doing so damn well for a console so controversial and hated. It did much better than expected. You can at least give MS some credit for that.
Bought the Wind Waker HD edition months ago, playing SM3DW on it right now. The best 3D Mario game since Galaxy 2, it's that fun.
My PS4 and Wii U are constantly fighting each other for my attention.
Can't wait for DKTF, MK8, SSMB, the inevitable Animal Crossing and Zelda games etc.
I don't know man, the 3DS is full of "gimmick" but works well for Nintendo's sales. I have a Wii U and it wouldn't be the same without that tablet controller.
