Which is why I am staying on PS3 for PS3 games. The exception is using Gaikai on my Vita.

Even though I am no Xbox One fan, I'll have to admit that for a console this controversial they're doing pretty damn good. Not PS4 good, but better than expected.

They'll probably make one platform that is both a home console and a handheld with an APU similar to the one in the PS4 and Xbox One, maybe even better. Or they'll probably release a home console very competitive to the PS5 and the 4th Xbox. Nintendo was known for releasing powerful consoles in the past, don't see why they couldn't next gen.

Chances are MS and Sony will continue to release their "critically acclaimed" franchises 10+ years from now unless nobody buys them anymore. As long as fans want the games they will continue with the sequels and remakes as per business agenda, aka demand and supply. Activision releases CoD annually for the very reason as it is their bread and butter with one of the largest fanbases in video game history.
And the modern Mario games play nothing like the one on Atari....
Nope, though maybe next gen they'll make an AMD APU powered handheld/home console hybrid with similar specs to PS4/XboxOne since APUs are mostly designed for laptop/tablet use.
When they roll this out for the Vita, call me. I am not interested in playing PS3 games on PS4 via cloud streaming. I still have a PS3 that will play my entire library of PS3 games which has many niche and imported games, and with better quality than cloud gaming can offer.
GoW would be fun on a portable, but I am not getting my hopes up too high for this given my experience with the Jak Collection on the Vita.

I wasn't a gamer in the 80s, but I do understand. I have 3 NES systems and over 300 NES cartridges I collected over the years.

This is the first time I've heard Resogun is a mediocre game. Everyone else I know loves the game.
If the system sells like hotcakes for years and third parties get what they want done on PS4 without complaints about the limitations there is no need to think about PS5 this early. This is like only 2 weeks after the American launch of PS4.
My 72" TV has never seen a cable the two years I own it. It's dedicated to PC and consoles. YouTube on my PC makes up 100% of all the TV I watch nowadays and it's free.
