SMT IV is pretty damn childish, so is Devil Summoner Soul Hackers, Etrian Odyssey IV, Tales of the Abyss, Rune Factory 4, Bravely Default,
Professor Layton, Resident Evil, etc. Why? Because they're not military first-person shooters with a multiplayer mode full of kids younger than 12...

It's probably due to the size. It doesn't sound silly, at least not to me.

This is my first LEGO game and not sure if I really missed anything on the previous installments. A lot of people really enjoyed the LEGO games, but this one is not at all enjoyable like I had hoped for. But I am not at all surprised, it's a game for kids first and foremost, way more geared toward children than Mario so maybe that's why.

This game isn't for everyone...well literally ALL games are not for everyone but this one is for a small cult following and I feel I am one of them. I may or may not like it, but I will still give this game a try with an open mind. Also, because if you're a Disgaea fan it doesn't mean you'll find this game enjoyable. It's after all an entirely different game.

I play the Hyperdimension Neptunia games and they score low on mainstream critics like GameSpot, I...

I am playing DS in celebration of Fox News' stupidity. This is why I don't waste money on mainstream TV anymore.

I am not sure about MS paying for GS space. Many GS stores are filled with unsold Xbox One consoles and this mess is a problem for GS. I can see why they advertise the thing so much, they want them gone and make a profit.

This is fantastic. I don't want to rely on emulators that can produce hit and miss results just to play my favorite N64 games in HD.

Companies abandon their consoles eventually but hobbyist gamers and power users keep them alive and strong.

Edit: It's good to see PS4 doing so well for Japan. It's actually the most important region for me because I am a jRPG gamer first and foremost. I want more jRPGs on home consoles with my 46" TV and not having to rely on portable hardware with a much smaller screen and inferior controls. PlayStation's home consoles are always my to go platform for jRPG's.

PS9 is the future and the future is PS9.

It's the first party titles that's keeping the Wii U going. It's never going to sell as much as the more industry-supported consoles but it will stay on the market for a long time yet until Nintendo releases its successor. Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. may or may not be huge system sellers but historically these franchises have been.

Nintendo has the dollar printer 3DS and large sums of cash in their bank...better than what most companies in gaming have. Wii U is a stinker, but that isn't enough to spell doom and gloom for the entire company that has a long track record of success in the grand scheme. Nintendo 7 (or whatever they'll call their next-gen system) will hopefully be more compelling for third parties and gamers alike.

That being said, I enjoy my Wii U but I worry about its business perf...

People wonder why N4G users only read the title and comment, it's junk like this. They'll most likely take your material more seriously if you at least submitted anything somewhat worthwhile.

Xbox One hasn't ruined the PS4, Wii U, or PC.

Most of the games I played on the Vita are not niche Japanese games. There really isn't that many of them. Many Japanese games have yet to be localized for western markets.

If anything, it needs more. Niche Japanese games do fine on the 3DS in the American market.

PS4 is one of the best consoles in existence (the best this gen IMO), but the sixth generation was the last really good generation. Everything went downhill last generation and much of the baggage carried over to this one.

-Microtransactions didn't exist on full priced retail games
-Add-on content existed on Xbox, but in very few games and wasn't as cosmetic
-The FPS genre is still casualized with regenerative health and checkpoints
-The FPS ge...

Without Valve and Steam, you could question whether or not PC gaming would've been near dead by now. Valve makes up much of the mess that M$, game publishers, and pirates left for PC gaming.

Not to say that PC is currently in its prime (that was the 90s-early 2000s) but it's definitely doing much better now than it did 5 years ago.

PS+ mostly, and Yakuza. No FF, Monster Hunter, Tales, GTA, etc. yet for PS4. Any of those games would sell large numbers on the PS4.

Last I checked, PSNow will not offer PSOne or PS2 classics. It's only for PS3. But no doubt it will be the future. I have been saying that myself. The industry wants everything to go cloud gaming, therefore it will happen because with the rare exception of the original Xbox One, gamers will give in and accept everything thrown at them.

It is too early to worry about this, but if it really does change, would it be as bad as our worries tell us? Who knows. Look at how far downhill the movie and music industries went. Nintendo for example probably wouldn't develop for PC, they would much rather develop for mobile if they would no longer manufacture handhelds, and as long as gaming remains a mere afterthought for mobile devices, the variety in the games will always be extremely limited.

It has its own style.

I'd feel somewhat ripped off, but in the grand scheme of things the 900p game is still a game that can look and play well for most people.

That being said, for a system released in late 2013 at $500, it is not keeping up with a somewhat aging resolution of 1080p very well. That isn't very desirable for me.

This isn't necessarily a bad review, it's just one I couldn't agree much less with. At least you recommend the game, but that's where it ends. DKC has been notorious for having an edge in difficulty compared to some other competing platform games/franchises on SNES. DKCR:TF is capitalizing on that. Hardcore gamers would appreciate a genuinely challenging game that is enjoyable at the same time, and this game is just that.

It worked for Demon's Souls (even ...
