Even if it is the latter I don't feel like I've been betrayed.
I doubt the NX is going to be backwards compatible because I'm really thinking and hoping it's going to be running on cartridges.

There are more advantages than just faster read speeds.
1. Less moving parts = less chance of the console breaking, either by the disc reader breaking or the console overheating.
2. Less power consumption saving US, THE CONSUMERS, on our electric bills.

You'd be surprised, I think there are going to be quite a few people who get both versions, I'll be getting both, but then again look at my username and you know how I feel about the series.
That's a very selfish mindset to have, you have the LUXURY of being upset about a video game delay.
If that were the case they would have cancelled the Wii U version. I'm not upset about the delay a single bit. It's not something that warrants getting upset over. A video game delay puts no one in danger, it's really sad that so many people act as if it does. If you have the LUXURY of getting upset over a video game delay then you should consider yourself fortunate.
Offering constructive criticism is good, going off on a tirade like you're suggesting is not. Why would you ever think throwing a temper tantrum like a child would serve to benefit anyone? The title of the article is very unprofessional, of course he doesn't need to read it first with a title like that. What the author is saying is that Nintendo needs to pay off the gaming media like Sony and Microsoft have done in order to get the positive articles to flow in and the insane amount of negative articles to stop. Quality products speak for themselves and Nintendo delivers quality games in spades.

Who says they're not showing off other games? You must not have been paying attention because Nintendo said that Zelda would be the only PLAYABLE game at e3, that doesn't mean they won't show off other games, just that they won't be playable.

I'm still not entirely sold on the idea but I remain cautiously optimistic.
Unless Nintendo slips a check to a lot of people in the gaming media then no matter what they show at e3 there will be a lot of negative articles coming out about them saying their showing was lackluster. So why not do the NX reveal at their own event where all eyes are on them. They'll still get negative publicity from the press but still better exposure. Most of the gaming media has been bought off just like most politicians.

It all depends on personal expectations. For me it has exceeded my expectations with how well the gamepad can be used if given the proper effort. Just waiting on Zelda to completely justify the purchase. Zelda is the only game I needed to be happy with my purchase.

Nintendo has done just fine by me. Perfect? No, but definitely more than satisfactory by my standards. Also, making Zelda, my favorite video game series ever, the main focus of e3 is incredible for me.
