MS probably paying that guy.
Microsoft open themselves to a two front war. When Xbox was first introduce it focus on games and so did the 360(during first few years). Towards the end of this gen MS slowly started losing focus on the Xbox platform prime objective, games.
Soon as Live TV and other tv features in the Xbox One get popular, the competition (Viacom, AMC, ABC and etc) will either want to charge MS more or distance themselves. Viacom tried to do i...
They are being greedy for a reason because we all know these multimillion/multibillion gaming companies are shutting down left and right due to used games /s
Supporting the industry is the result of this bs MS and publishers are pulling.
Name one company in gaming industry that used games killed. Go on I'm waiting.
Oh I'll buy them new alright a year or two down the line after the price on them is lower.
They won't go out of business because there will always be someone buying their product regardless of the DRM.
Prime example SimCity. I didn't buy it but others who in-spite of knowing about the always-on drm did.
I wouldn't be surprise if someone takes Microsoft to court after the Xbox One launches over privacy.
There is no could its more like will be screwed. If publishers wanted a cut of the used game market there are better ways of doing it. Honestly whats stopping the publishers from buying back customers' games themselves? Nothing. They don't want to go through the trouble.
At least that way they would've gotten a larger chuck compared to chuck they will be getting from Gamestop. Then again who knows how much Gamestop willing to give to publishers so that it can re...
Rage got over hyped and perform poorly. Syndicate should've stay a real-time tactical game but EA wanted to monetize off it so they turn it into a FPS thus spitting in the face of Syndicate's fanbase.
Binary and Vanquish both were excellent games. Too bad Binary Domain did sell well as Vanquish. Bulletstorm game-play was fun and the voice acting was pretty good but the story not so much.
I can't really comment on Payday, Singularity or The Darkne...
Microsoft told Gamestop what it wanted it to hear NOT what it needed it to hear.
I'm guess if I were to put something over that camera the darn console will hit me with a message blocking me from streaming netflix, hulu or etc.
Sure they're eliminating the competition but it comes with backlash. As the backlash you're currently seeing.
At least my way they could get some money back, cut out the middleman and take a chuck out of the used gaming market with little to no backlash at all.
Honestly if Microsoft and other big gaming companies wanted to get a cut of the used game market they could do it a better way without having to rely on such a silly system.
They could buy back their consumer's games and offer a better price than Gamestop. Why go to Gamestop and buy a used copy of Madden 14 for $55 dollars when you can get a used copy from EA for $45 with free shipping?
Microsoft better get ready to sign a deal with J.League and Nippon Professional Baseball because I'm pretty sure Japan don't give two sh*ts about the NFL.
What about BSOD given that the thing is running three OS.
MS motto: Screw the consumers We want MONEY!!!!

You get to buy your friends games for a fee instead of playing them for free because we just know you wanted to pay us more money /sarcasm

*I'm stilling thinking of something
Bad
-HDD isnt removeable
-have to pay fee for those used games because the game is tied to one account/console
-every now and then it needs to connect to the internet
Downloadable games is one thing but what batz is referring to is if you wanted to loan your game out to your friend, he/she would need your account info(so they can sign in) or have to pay a fee to run the game.
I went through the five stages of grief when I was watching this conference.
Sadly for MS, I don't have high hopes.
MS lost a lot of people with this move if it is indeed true.
Majority of the games I played this gen were multi-platform anyway. I never really cared for CoD dlc, Halo, Gears, PGR, Forza and Fable that much. Guess MS just made the leaving easier.
Just because own a console or product it doesn't necessarily means you automatically a fanboy (not calling you one btw).
Fanboys to me is a person who blatantly defend a product or company regardless how terrible that product is or what direction that company takes.
