Great interview! Really sheds some light on all the rumors and speculation that surrounded the Wii U. It's going to ultimately be up to the developer to maximize the Wii U's true potential and it seems that Nintendo actually put forth the effort in ensuring that the Wii U's hardware isn't plagued by RAM deficiency. Hopefully more developers sit-down and take the time to learn the hardware...

Look at the overall scores between both titles and you can clearly see that most critics are giving positive reviews for ACIII and most are giving Liberation mixed. Quit trying to rationalize the facts!

The “ultimate goal” for the hardware, we were told, is for it to be able to run 1080p60 games in 3D with “no problem,” to create a machine that’s powerful enough for “today and tomorrow’s market”.

Why don't you learn how to read? Oh well this is nice indeed and exactly what I expected!

Guess you live under a rock! Why mention 360 when they bailed out of Japan over a year ago!? I know, to try and take focus off of the negative sales the Vita has. The fact that Microsoft no longer supports 360 in Japan and still manages to sells 1k in japan and PS Vita sells 5k with full Sony support; what does that say about it...? It's funny how you try to take focus off of Vita sales, doesn't change reality!

Excellent review! Haven't put Dark Souls down since the DLC! It almost feels like a full blown expansion because of all the equipment and PVP items your able to obtain, not to mention the new multiplayer modes. This just gives me hope that a another sequel is in the works and that FromSoftware is still keeping the world of Dark Souls alive and well. Happy slaying...

"ya, the best controller NINTENDO has ever given them... They didnt say the best controller of all time.. U gotta read in-between the lines.."

Who's said that it's the, "Best controller of all time"? Nobody said that! Take a look at jmc8888 comment above, I think your the prime example of what he's talking about.

OT: Randy Pitchford obviously sees the great potential the Wii U Gamepad has, and is just excited about it! He NEVE...

"This is the best controller Nintendo's ever made for making an FPS," Pitchford told Joystiq. "This is the best controller Nintendo has ever given us for playing hardcore games."

I'm sure it is! I'm getting more and more excited as the time draws near. Both GearBox and Ubisoft are saying that the Wii U Gamepad functionality, is truly revolutionary and indeed hardcore. I just don't understand how some people "Hardcore Gamers", aren...

"Innovation like that is very hard to grasp as a consumer, until you actually see it, because it's not something you're asking for necessarily. ... You're not going to 'get it' from a trailer."

That said, he expects the public to catch on to the device fairly quickly. And says the potential disruption to the industry is nearly as big as what the Wii brought with it.

"The Wii was a huge breakthrough for gaming because it more...

More interested in the performance over still-shots, it's not like we're playing the game one screenshot at a time... Either way they both look nearly identical in terms of graphics. Great job Ubisoft, can't wait to see the graphical differences and performance of the Wii U version of AC:III if any. I'm not really holding my breath on early ports but am still curious nonetheless...

I would agree 100% with the both of you but sadly the game is marketed, advertised, and even titled, the same as the console version, complete with some console functionality. It would've been nice if the Vita version was NOT the exact same and actually a different game like AC: Liberation or Uncharted. The fact that there is a small difference in price between the two and not bundled together, makes it difficult to justify a purchase on the handheld version over the console, unless you o...

Smart move I've been saying that they need to pace games monthly in order to let the average consumer catch up. Good stuff!

Sooo, the 3DS comes into play where? Man, stick to the topic!

OT:Obviously everyone knows the console version looks best and that these pictures were clearly chosen to make the Vita version shine. It's just funny how they use the least populated area on 360 and the highest density are on Vita for the comparison. People are smart enough to figure it out...

Still want a portable version of this and will get it regardless of the score, just won't get it immediately now that I know the differences. Console version will always come first, handheld second. Either way it still did good...

Yes, being patent PAYS off! I'm sorry but this isn't saving a "Nickel", like you previously stated. Looks like I'll be picking up a Vita sooner than I thought! Happy times indeed...

"Without a doubt, the Wii U successfully differentiates itself from that popular predecessor to earn the title of a next-gen system. From bullet-point graphical details to the “Holy S&!t, The Controller’s Like a Tablet,” the Wii U is something new."

Well said!

Good! I'd rather have no ports of current games and just continue on with games that are on the way. That system doesn't need to be plagued with old ports! I'd rather get multiplats at the same time after the initial launch or even better NEW GAMES... Playing catch-up will only slow the Wii U down, looking forward to NEW multi-platform titles, new IP's and exclusive third-party support, is the key to being successful, not snagging old titles that have (or will be), forgotten i...

"Why bother with the console version when this is on the go & $20 cheaper?"

You've got to be joking!?!? I'd get the console version as my PRIMARY version and the handheld as my secondary, just like MH3 Ultimate Wii U will be my primary game and MH3 Ultimate 3DS my secondary!

I'm a huge Criterion fan and loved the Burnout series and that's the ONLY reason I want a Vita at the moment, but my money's going to the Wii U first h...
