What's funny about the whole thing is that these games are ports of current gen systems, that are structured to take advantage mainly of the CPU. The Wii U's architecture is designed a bit differently, with a hefty GPU, 1.5gigs of RAM for software, and a CPU that's marginally on par, (or stronger), than current gen consoles. The funny part is that it's already looking better than current gen consoles, without taking advantage of the Wii U's GPU.

It just goes to show that there is still a huge market out there for handhelds, they just have to be the right price! The Vita is the right price hardware wise but unfortunately it isn't the right price for regular people that just want to play regular quality games. I personally like the Vita but am hesitant in getting one at the current price its at. At any rate the 3DS did a great job, and I'm happy that there still is a market out there for dedicated handhelds. I don't think t...
You are correct in the aspect of what they need to do in terms of the DS or in this case the 3DS. They really pulled a rabbit of games out of their ass with the 3DS this year, third and first party wise... Exclusive wise, they will deliver us the usual greatness, but I'm really hoping they take a little more risk and start developing a few new IP's.
I can't comment on the, "Pulling a Sony" remark, because I really don't understand what you mean by t...
These articles are just plane silly! The Wii was considered next-gen and so will the Wii U. The graphical gap will be a lot smaller than it was, nonetheless there will be one. It's going to boil down to price and software, and if the Wii U is priced competitively against the new Xbox and PlayStation, and is able to keep selling and directly impact their sales, then it is in fact next-gen.
Not true, statistics have shown the demographics for most people that purchase handhelds are adults 18 and older; while children only make up 30-35% of current handheld gamers! Sorry to burst your bubble, but if that were the case, Sony wouldn't bother to market the Vita towards adults, they would push for nothing but kiddie games and cheap hardware. Really, think about it man... It's that misconception that blows me away on how so many people believe that children only by handhelds. ...
People are quick to take this article as a, "Sony's doomed article.", when in fact, it's just pointing out the losses and the reasons behind it. I do think that Sony can turn it around so long as the do make some changes on Vita's price point.
He's absolutely correct, there is still a dedicated market for handhelds; Nintendo has approximately 20 million handhelds in little over a year. The Vita is priced reasonably for the power it has, but most peop...
What boggles my mind is how long it took for this game to get an update for a full install and trophy support. Don't get me wrong I'm super excited for the update, it's just that now I have to re-purchase the game once more. Oh Kojima, you and your crazy ideas... I know you do it for the fans but why did it take you so long to do???
I'm really enjoying this game! It's right up there with part 1 and 2. Don't get me wrong, they did take a different approach in the series, but its a refreshing and welcomed edition to the franchise that's over a decade old! What people don't understand is that this is not a sequel but the story that sets up KH III and that its also on a handheld and not a console. My point is that despite being on a handheld, they managed to capture the true essence of the consoles counte...
All they need are their killer first-party titles and some key third-party titles and they'll do just fine. Maybe not as good as Wii or maybe better, but to count them out is a ridiculous observation. That's like Michael Patcher saying that the 3DS was going to fail and be out done by smartphones and tables. One year and some change later and the 3DS already has an instal base of approximately 20 million people.
I've come to the conclusion that most people doubti...
This game is hard, if your new to the series. Anyone that played Demon's Souls, and successfully completed it, doesn't really find it that difficult. Don't get me wrong, there are some parts in the game that I had trouble with, but nothing I couldn't handle. I actually found Demon's Souls to be more of a challenge for the simple fact that if you died, you were forced to start from the beginning of the level you were in. Dark Souls has more of a Metroid-Vania style of gamep...
I've always loved how good KH games are, despite being inspired by Disney. I played KH1&2 twice many, many, many years ago, and kinda strayed away from the handheld versions only trying them out. But as of yesterday I'm kinda interested in getting the handheld versions, (mainly the PSP version), because I bought KH: 3D Dream Drop and I swear that it's just as good than the console versions, (In my opinion). The complexity of the game and story is so fresh... I love how your able...
Yes! At first I was a bit skeptical but it went away the moment that I read that it has a much more profound 3D effect... True, it doesn't do anything to enhance the the original resolution, but you clearly don't have to be as close as the original 3DS and the sweet spot for the 3D is much more lenient than before. I'm selling my original after I transfer my data to my friend that wants to purchase one for $130.00 with the CPP included!
No no no no, he saying he guessing and that it's not his fault he's an idiot... He's saying that if he didn't guess that he would be right, so it's okay...
What a jag! This guy is smoking CRACK! Michael Patcher is a damn idiot and tries to blame it on "Educated Guessing", does anyone really buy that shit!?!
@WeskerChildReborned I wish that you would reconsider and give it another go patiently...
@Mutant-Spud I'm sure if you both gave it another shot and give it a solid chance, you would fall in love with the game the same way I did... Patience my friends, it really does take patience...
I'm well aware of all those games you mentioned but am also aware that most of the games you mentioned are mediocre at best! Don't get me wrong I played most of the games on your list of ramblings and do like Level 5, but I would NOT tear down doors for that game and obviously Japan feels the same way. I highly doubt we'll get a localization now. Oh and if you think that a 200 unit difference is worth noting KUDOS to you my friend just shows how much "loyalty" and "...
Yes indeed I can wait, for the simple fact that I was waiting this whole time for Gravity, and when it came I just didn't feel like the Vita was my number one priority anymore. My point is that the Vita has some really great games and Sony almost had me at launch, but I feel that they should've prioritized games like Gravity first and foremost over other casual and mediocre games like Resistance or MNR. Maybe things will change if Soul Sacrifice turns out to be great like Demon's ...
Great Read! I love this game more than any adventure game this gen, next to Demon's Souls it's the greatest adventure game ever. It's not that the noobs disappeared, its just that they either got really, really good, or quit; simple as that...
The Vita is an impressive piece of technology that had an excellent launch, but very little triple A titles to follow suit and keep the momentum going. I think that Sony should've spread some of the launch titles into launch window games. In this day and age, games become lost in the mist of other games as the months roll by. I was really interested in a Vita but have lost interest in purchasing one as time went on. I've learned that if a costumer is interested and they have to wait f...
I'm sorry but the only thing that developers Level 5 did good was Ni no kuni and that's on the DS and soon to be PS3 in the US! That has a big reason to do with the games poor sales. And I must say that for anyone to brag about a 200 unit difference, that's probably some type of marginal error, is ridiculous!
It has Nothing to do with what platform it's on so much as how the game scored and from what I've read, it's no where good as Ni no Kuni so why ...
You damn right it's a ripoff, but so is everything else. It just better be a damn good ripoff lmao... I'm really neither for it or against it, but it has sparked a bit of curiosity in me. Any who, who really cares! I know Nintendo doesn't; as I read that it was more of a complement that Sony made a game based off a Nintendo title.
