I will defend it and I actually have a reason. Games wouldn't be $60 anymore if it weren't for this. They would be $70 or $80 at this point.
You will make a blanket statement and you can't defend it. The MT available in this game DOES NOT HARM YOU in any way. It doesn't make the game more difficult without it.
Some games do abuse it certainly, but not all.

Spencer has been terrible at making new games. He is been in charge of Microsoft Studios since 2009. No reason to expect that to change until they prove something.
There is a difference between digital music and digital games.
#1. No one ever really sold of their music. Certainly not like selling used games.
#2. Music is a much more mobile and quick thing. So the on demand digital aspect is much greater. Console games are different. While digital certainly is faster, it isn't that big of a convenience to change disc's when you're probably plopping down in a chair for an extended session.
There certainly won't be any ability to import from 3DS.

Seriously doing quests isn't grinding.
Final Fantasy games of old where you literally had to go kill hundreds and hundreds of enemies to level up.... that is grinding.
Repeatable quests, you can call that grinding.
But regular side quests? That's not grinding.
Witcher 3 with grind + no way to pay for grind = GOOD
Witcher 3 with grind + optional way to lessen grind = BAD
If the game is 100% the same with or without that "addon", then you have NOTHING to complain about.
It is no different than adding an "extra easy" mode to the game. If you want to cheapen the experience by paying to win... IT DOESN'T AFFECT ANYONE ELSE.
You see, there's a difference between complaining about something and crying about something. You guys are crying all over this for no reason. This game has received raving reviews. But as soon as you all hear about this addon you can buy, all of a sudden it is the end of the world and Ubisoft is the devil. You weren't personally affected by this and I'd bet you don't even own the game.
I really find it odd that N4G allows content like this.
