I love the medium. Can you all get that through your head? Yes, I love the game as well. But I also love disc more than digital.
Cross progression doesn't have to rely on platform. All these companies have to do is create accounts like some already do (EA, Ubisoft, etc) and they can store account status there.
It means we own the disc and can resell it. That isn't a false sense of ownership. You can never be stripped of it (you could if it was digital).

Your argument doesn't make sense though. You do own the disc. You can sell it. You can't do that with digital, you only have a license.
Who cares if a disc can get destroyed? I still own it. My car could get destroyed, it is still mine.
The medium does matter. You can't sell a digital game to someone else when you're done with it.

You won't find brand new games on PSNow, so they certainly aren't comparable in that manner. PSNow is much less likely to cannibalize the sales of a game.

Sales of a single game doesn't necessarily mean the game is good. But we're talking about console sales. As the generation enters the last leg, those sales numbers are a very good determining factor into which console was superior when all aspects are concerned.
Stay on track? They are directly related. You lose your account for any reason (your fault or theirs), you lose your games. How is that not related? That doesn't happen with physical EVER.
Now you're downplaying bans as well. Bans have been permanent. Regardless of bans, people have lost accounts for no reason. This article is not the first occurrence like you make it out to believe.

NEVER? You're delusional. Sony and Microsoft have killed Live and PSN accounts before. Steam bans accounts all the time. You lose it all. You break their terms, you can lose your account and library. This happens often.
Steam is the only place that PC users can have achievements as well, which is a pretty big thing.
First of all, not all the multiplats are better. Secondly, the differences are so minute that we could put every multiplat up on 2 60" televisions side by side and 9/10 times you couldn't tell which was showing a Pro game and which was showing a X1X game. But at least you have the satisfaction of thinking you have the superior version because it cost more.
While some things are subjective, you can easily look at sales to see what choice people are still making. Sony continues to dominate even with the almighty X1X available. The people have spoken.
