I agree with everything you said thief, it's hilarious how inconsistent the gaming media is. hilarious.
millions of cod sales doesn't mean its the better game. It would be a very interesting figure to see how many got traded in very quickly! I know people who jumped on the hype train only to end up disappointed.
BFBC imo is a much better game, sniper in the building racking up the kills, what do you do in call of duty? and what do you do in bfbc? answers on a postcard!

The most obvious thing to me is graphics, was playing the campaign last night and cannot believe that some sites gave them a 10/10, they are no different from cod4 and no where near the standard of killzone 2
I think this is a fair review, I'm loving the multiplayer but it is very much more of COD4, which is not a bad thing, but no reason why this game should get a free pass for not doing anything new. Also, shocked at the reviewers that gave the graphics a 10/10, they simply are not a 10/10, some look good, but not 10/10 good, not that much of a leap from COD4
Great game, and I am getting it, but this game seriously has the Halo effect, there are alot better games out there - amazing what hype/marketing can do
I agree, there is definitely potential for this to beat MW2, destruction, vehicles etc etc
but, unfortunately it probably wont sell as well as cod due to the hype and die hard cod followers
I have to say, gagging to get into the Beta
They were cruel to release the beta this month, whilst I am looking forward to COD6 and will be getting it on day 1, battlefield just gets me more hyped with all its destruction and vehicles etc....
I have to say, if this and COD were coming out together it would be have to be this, the destruction for me is what would win me over oh and the vehicles, and larger maps and the frostbite engine is fantastic for sound. but I am pretty hyped for COD as it is just around the corner, but BFBC couldnt come soon enough!
However, facts slightly wrong, PS3 hasn't been out 4 years yet - has it?

so, in Eurpoe it has only been out 2.5 years and the rest it has been out 3 years - which means it's doing even better really, it's come A LONG way in such a short time
I think it is purely based on the fact that PS3 owners have more games to play, that are not multiplat.
This year already we have had some great exclusives, Killzone 2, Infamous, U2 and more - it just means that some multiplats get pushed aside a bit
I'll be buying MW2, but it won't be my sole focus as I have Uncharted 2, still have KZ2 multiplayer and am in the MAG beta
I was certainly not being biased, I don't doubt it'll be an amazing game, it's on it's way to my PS3, and its not the game I am referring to, and it's not a direct comparison to other games either, it's simply the state of the gaming journalism/reviews that I was having a dig at. We all know that some reviews in the past have knocked points off of games for not doing anything innovative etc...so it'll sure be interesting to see the mass of reviews come in for this

Huh? no loss of points because it does 'nothing new', no new amazing innovations of the FPS genre?
It'll be a great game, we all know that, but the review bias is and will be blatent in the upcoming reviews.
Been gaming for over 15 years, and this is my best FPS of all time, ok so doom was still great - but this was special, incredible looking, realistic movement and very immersive. It's honestly a shame that more PS3 owners havn't experienced this - bring on KZ3

Considering the 1 year head start the 360 had, PS3 is in an exceptional position. It's PS2 timeline all over again
I have played it, it is actually very very good - I think the negatives about the graphics were not true, the graphics are great and you really feel like part of a larger scale battle - better if you have a head set as you really have to work together to be good at it - no COD style running and gunning really
Somebody seems to have forgotten the 1 year head start that relates to numbers of consoles.....
