I still can’t wrap my head around the immensity of this acquisition. Just a week ago, Take Two acquiring Zynga became the biggest gaming acquisition in history at 12.7 billion. And now this one is over five times bigger at 68 billion.
For perspective with other industries, Disney spent 71 billion on Fox.

I have to disagree with that. GTA games are usually extremely polished and relatively bug-free, considering their massive scope. Same with RDR and most Rockstar releases.

Same. I played the game once (5 years ago), only got a third of the way through the story, and I remember this encounter just by your short description. And I barely remember anything about this game.
I thinking you’re looking backwards. Console hardware sales are hardly relevant anymore. Microsoft is acquiring these studios to bolster their Game Pass lineup first and foremost. They don’t care if you’re playing on PC, Xbox, mobile, or maybe one day on your Switch.
Services like Game Pass are the inevitable future for this industry. We’ll see what Sony has in store with their Game Pass competitor “Spartacus”, which I imagine we’ll hear more about soon. Until then, Microso...
