“Yeah, and Sony is so evil that I bet they will close them one week after launch. In all seriousness though, you'll be already on PS6 when this happens.”

Driveclub would like a word …

The server shutdown in time attack also means your fastest times aren’t really registered any more, and it just says leaderboards/scoreboard is unavailable, in red text at the bottom of the screen.

With racing games, a whole lot of replay-value comes from taking a car and trying to improve your own lap-times, and when that functionality is lost, that basically destroys that part of the game.

I do want to replay the campaign, but obviously the SP content ...

Dirt 4 was good, not great. Locations weren’t that much fun, and more than a few of them looked a bit too generic and uninspired. Gameplay was good though.

Dirt Rally 2 is (mostly) great, but only when you get the GOTY/Complete edition, or else it’s lacking in content, which was the point I was making before about CM and their DLC greed … and how that negatively impacts their own products, and thus sales and fanbase.

Go do some hot laps in Driveclub to improve your own times, and then tell me again how this shouldn’t matter.

It’s ridiculous that when they decide to take down online server-support, it basically breaks the game. That’s why it matters when they build a game around ‘always online’. It’s because then you’re also depending on them to keep those servers up and lines open for you to be able to play and enjoy the game you bought.

I can still boot up my 360 an...

That’s perfectly fine and understandable, but the issue here is that they also put up that online demand for the SP campaign mode.

To be fair, even before CM was bought by EA they already had a tendency to gimp their games in order to nickel & dime their costumers post-launch with expensive season passes.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Dirt Rally 2, but I only considered picking it up once there was finally a complete release to buy which included all the content. Their DLC practices has also kept me from buying many of their other games.

And let’s be honest, GRID (reboot), DIRT4 and...

To be honest, I’d hate for this game to be as dark (visually) and gritty and serious as games like The Last of Us. It’s a superhero game, which allows for OTT action and fights, and colorful and varied villains, and I want to play a Wolverine who leaps into outrageous fights and smashing and slashing his way through his enemies.

I really hope the game will have a colorful location, or locations, like Canadian or American woods, the School for Gifted Youngsters, perhaps the ...

No SP game should have a requirement/demand to be connected online in order to just play the campaign or SP content. It’s ridiculous and consumer-unfriendly, if not at launch, then surely and obviously after 5-10 years, when support drops and servers are shut down.

Don’t forget what Sony did to Driveclub.

Very disappointing to hear this.

At first, I was sad to hear the license will be transferred to Codemasters, because I doubt they can do it justice, but then I thought about it and losing the license doesn’t mean these developers can’t continue making rally games, and it might actually free them up to go wild on cherry-picking gorgeous locations and designing new original gorgeous tracks which will be fun to drive on.

For me, DLC just means I’ll never buy the game at full price on launch. I usually wait for a ‘complete’ release somewhere down the line, or a big discount on the base-game, if I’m not much interested in the expansions.

Usually, DLC is about actual expansions (new chapters, locations, stories, characters) or just cosmetic, but here it actively (and negatively) affects the experience on the base-game, which means that because of this decision they made, it not only means I wo...

Pretty much the ONLY complaint I had about Spider-Man (Haven’t played MM yet cause I want to play that on PS5) was that the city of New York was a bit boring. I know it’s very authentic and it looks gorgeous in places, and of course it’s a grid-based city with a lot of medium-height high-rise, but I really wish it would have had a bit more diversity & personality between the different neighborhoods/areas. I know it’s pretty much ‘just’ Manhattan, but the devs did such a fantastic job in c...

I’d rather see Nintendo announce a ‘Selects’ line-up with some of the older games getting a lower price, but only reason Switch might get a price-cut is to move the old models off the shelve before the OLED model hits …

To be fair, does anyone still trust Team Ninja with Ninja Gaiden*?

Let’s be honest here, it was Itagaki who created Ninja Gaiden greatness, with NG1, NG Black (improved version of NG1), and Ninja Gaiden 2.

The Sigma versions of 1 & 2, done without Itagaki, while decent/good, never lived up to the originals, and NG3 was a mess.

And they half-assed the collection, so many huge fans of the series never bothered picking that up.

“ Sony has bought FFXVI exclusivity and that will turn the tide in japan.”

Will it? Even when S-E announced FFXVI will focus on Western (English) voice-acting first, before Japanese voice-acting? Is Final Fantasy as big as a new Dragon Quest game in Japan?

I have no idea how PS5 will fare in the long run in Japan. I assume it will do just fine, as it’s a great console, while Xbox has always struggled in that country. I do fee...

Strong disagree. I much prefer the first 2 Sonic games, but the 3rd one I felt didn’t have the memorable and quality level design Sonic 1/2 had. It just looked more generic and like other platformers, instead of having that Sonic-look.

Also, I believe this had the ‘grab vines’ mechanic, so you were running through the level and made a jump, and suddenly you were hanging from some vine, which wasn’t the intention. So it quickly became a bit frustrating when that interrupted ...

Assassin’s Creed Origins & Odyssey were set in Egypt and Greece; So you’re saying those games shouldn’t have had English voice-acting?

I just hope they can be bothered to include the original Japanese voices in the Western releases this time, but probably not.

They might, but I assume just re-releasing this game on next gen will get the existing fans angry, who would prefer a completely new Smash game (like they’re upset about there not being a new Mario Kart this gen).

Seeing how very few Switch games I actually bought, because of those high prices by Nintendo, I also doubt I’d invest in a new console from Nintendo.

Very impressed with the world, but character-models look a lot less impressive. Still seems like a fun game to check out, though.

Kinda interested in the game (Switch), but its consistently high price combined with 2 equally expensive Season Passes means I’ll probably never get to own/play it.
