I was a kid at the time, and not nearly as informed or critical as I am now. All I remember is the squaresoft logo holding a lot of weight with me. If I was on the fence about which game to choose and one was a squaresoft game, I'd get it. Now it's far more a game by game basis for me.
Eh, they all do that. remember how to share your games on PS4? or what nintendon't? or Which of these look more like the real thing for that old Atari baseball game?
Banking everything on power again. I wonder where they got the idea that power was all they needed. It's almost as if they just listen to their fanboys on twitter and assume they represent all their fans.
Of course they don't. Those are the same ones that will buy it as long as it has an xbox logo. they don't need convincing. The people that do are the ones that aren't cheerleading you every step of the way.
Good for you. I never said you wouldn't. in fact I was quite clear that I was only speaking for myself.
But they didn't say just first party. they just made a blanket statement of true uncompromised 4K. They even started taking pot shots at the competition for not doing native 4K. So again, you got flat out lied to and are just looking for a way to make it ok. Where are your principles?
And how many other games are you giving up to play those with a few more pixels? Not only that, I guarantee you if I put up those games without labeling which machine they were running on you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, you'd have to guess which is which.
The 1X is a great value based on what's under the hood, but that's not the only reason we buy consoles, it's not even the main reason. And when all things are taken into consideration, the PS4 base...
@Xi, I doubt there's a whole lot of crossover between primarily Console gamers and PC gamers. the other way around? sure. I know tons of PC gamers that have consoles for the exclusives, but game on PC. But the 1X isn't really targeted at them, it's more for the console gamer who doesn't have too much interest in PC gaming. Afterall, for a couple hundred more you can outclass the 1X, and the benefits that come with that are worth way more than the $200 more you'd put in...

That's great and all. But personally I wouldn't go back and replay old games just because of an uptick in resolution. It'd have to be a game that I enjoyed the story and want to revisit. Essentially, my previous enjoyment of the game would cause me to replay, not a boost to 4K. and even then, so many games in my backlog, not sure when that'd even happen.
Why do you let them get away with that? they promised you true uncompromised 4K, then didn't deliver and you took it on the chin and look for a way to say it's ok. unbelievable.
Darn, I expected the xbox general manager to say the competition was a better value...
Do they?
I mean I see them trying with recore, quantum break and such, but the second they don't pull in halo or gears numbers they seemingly kill them off rather than try to build something out of them.

ummmm.
Please Anubis, you complain about everything that isn't straight white an male. everytime Chloe comes up in an article, or uncharted in general you always find a way to bring it back to Anita and SJW. Now I dislike those as much as the next guy, as I firmly believe that forced exclusion is just as bad as forced inclusion. But If they decided they wanted Chloe as the lead, they should be allowed to have chloe as the lead. If you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. But you...
Yup, they don't get that forced exclusion is just as bad as forced inclusion. to them I say:
You don't like it? Fine, make your own game. no one's forcing you to buy this one.
Oh look, a protagonist that isn't a straight white male and AnubisG is complaining. How... coincidental.
Hidden agenda looks sooo good.
Actually their closest competitor is the switch. Which is a tad scary, after just a few months the switch is closer to the X1 than the X1 is to the PS4 after a few years.
Their fan base seems to back them up no matter what, so you can't really expect any different.
An indie game and a rerelease? Not exactly big risk taking now is it? No, I'm talking building a franchise to a level where it becomes the next gears or halo. I'm talking quantum break 2, sunset overdrive 2, and recore 2.
Let me put it this way, the original xbox brought you halo. the 360 brought you gears. throughout the Xbox's and 360's lives they built up forza. What has the xbox 1 brought you on that level?
