2nd party is an unofficial term that doesnt exist. Either the company owns the studio or not. Just because they are making a game for their platform doesn't make them in any way a 2nd party. They are still a 3rd party dev.
They don't need heavy hitter they need megaton games bigger than Halo and Gears. Which I don't think is going to happen.
I find it funny that people don't know that it's either first part or an indidendent studio. 2nd party doesn't exist it doesn't even have a definition.
I was talking more about the game sucking aspect than the 1.17m in sales.
Just because your in a certain market doesn't mean you taking it seriously. For instance Xbox is in Japan but do they make or acquire japanese titles? My point is that you can be involoved with something and not have interest in it.

@Kribwalker just because Microsoft as a business has a lot of money doesn't mean that the Xbox branch has unlimited spending. Especially when it's a division that lost them a lot of money over the years.
Not for nothing they did also spend millions on acquiring Minecraft which could have ben spend on more experienced studios, forming new studios, and funding other owned projects. Just saying.

@galmi Starfox isn't a big seller for Nintendo. Not like Pokemon, Mario and Zelda.
It's also because Nintendo games aren't intensive. Why make a powerhouse console when your games aren't pushing the latest in polygon count and mocap. Nintnendo games are still under 20gb.
What big risk are you talking about. The Switch is a Nvidia tablet.
It's all about limiting expectations. if the do the bare minimal the never have to bring you cutting edge and powerful which cost money. If the can get away with not making a powerhouse why would you change it.

Lets be honest it a ok at best number. This isn't going to make 3rd party devs run and develop for the Swtich. Especially when it comes to newer titles.
