@Professor_K State of Decay is better than a game that isn't even out yet??? Common bro. Also if you think that Days Gone is linear you haven't watched any of the dev diaries. Things like weather and day and night cycles can drastically change your experience. Just watch the dev diary where they play the same level from the E3 presentation and the tackle the mission completly differently.
From those of you that don't get it. Sony has more known and higher praiseed talented developers than Xbox. They haven't really had a GOTY contender since Halo 3 which was Bungie. And the other part is that Sony also treats develolpers great. This is why Playstation has Hellblade, Spiderman, Shenmue, Final Fantasy 7 remake and the First Kojima game.
@Sonic_Vs_Mario From what I've heard the deal only got their exclussivity time extended.
Multiplatform games. When it comes to exclusives not even close. State of Decay vs Days Gone show the difference in developer talent. The people who will really utalize the platform.
Building games to be more like a service. Relying more on multiplats. Try to lock down more games like PUBG by offering cheaper Azure servers. More Forza, Gears and Halo.
@Death they also did great with Bloodborne a new IP and was make in conjunction with Sony's Japan Studio. And make the Uncharted series bigger and better than it was before. And that's without getting in to Spiderman, God of War and last of Us 2 potentially the biggest games they have. Other than turn 10 Microsoft just doesn't have developer talent.
@jmetalhead77812 Microsoft need to invest in making some IP's. And good IP's at that. The last time they won GOTY was Halo 3.
@Death Recore wasn't made by Microsoft and I would call a stand out game. I don't think Sea of thieves is going to be the next Halo.
It's also impressive that they have no new standout IP's in 3 years of console making.
Just as I expected Forza, Gears, Halo and a bunch of multiplats.
A new console would have to be utilized by devs. Mid gen upgrade leave it up the the developers to use the hardware. We have to do homework on every game to see what upgrades if any have been made.
@CorndogBurglar It's also a weakness. If it was a new console the devs would have to utilize the hardware. This mid gen it's up to the devs if they want to situation is meh. People don't know what they are getting on a game to game basis.
So he wants them to show Joel and Ellie again when the game is clearly going to involve new characters.
Is Nintendo Making Amiibos Into Bad Game DLC? - Metroid 3DS Rant
https://www.youtube.com/wat...
-BOTW has a difffucltly lock behind amiibo
-Metroid Samus Returns has game play features an entire mode locked behind the Amiibo.
-Fire Emblem Echoes locked exclusive dungeons.
-A whole bonus dungeon in Twilight Princess HD
And the fact that if the Amiibo is rare it cost 2 to 3 times more than what the DLC would originally cost.

Locking DLC behind an item that can be very rare and expensive is a huge issue.
Sony games that have been sad way before The Last of Us.
-God of War. Kratos is constantly reminded of his dead family ashes and tries to commit suicide
-Shadow of the Collasis killing creatures to hopefully bring back your loved one
-Heavenly sword ending
-Resistance Nathan Hale is infected and slowly dies while your playing the game,
-Metal Gear Snake is infected and slowly dying while playing the game
-Infamous- You run though the remna...
Can't wait to see the damage control.
So locking DLC and parts of the game behind collectible toys that can go up in price drastically isn't a problem. Ok.
-Exclusives fully utalize the hardware since the devs only have to concentrate on making the game on one hardware.
-Making exclusives means the devs don't have to spend as much time or money developing multiple versions of the game
- Exclusives give platforms identity.
