Still infinity better than a proprietary expansion solution - made by a single manufacturer no less.
Sony has the better solution to a next gen problem.
xbox chumps - A proprietary expansion solution is good, i be when Sony announces it you'll all applaud it.
Sony champs - If Sony goes that route we're good with it, no stress. They'll cop the same heat as ms.

But not every PC will have them, so the games have to accommodate the lowest configuration also. Mark said the NVMe drives should be available at year's end for the for PC users.
Seems only Sony 1st party exclusives will be taking full advantage of these SSD's.
Mate - they don't need to lie, they don't need to spin - don't you get it? Mark also gave information where the xsx outdoes PS5 - obviously it doesn't concern Mark or the engineers at Sony.
Best news to come out of it I'd say - your use of capitals have a few people scrambling to shoot it down. And some of the comments show they can't take in basic information. Mark explained everything as best he could so Neanderthals like me con understand 'most' of what he said.
Did you see the part where he said you can use off the shelf expandable SSD's. No proprietary SSD needed - that's exciting. I'll chalk it up as a big win for Sony and PS5 owners.

Now that is trying a little too hard. PS5 will be fine and 1st party games will look better than anything on xsx.
They're making a mountain out of a mole hill. Most 3rd party games will be cross gen for the first year or 2 - same as every gen.
And of course Sony 1st party will utilise it the most - they're 1st party and will PS5 exclusives.
Vasto you just named some mighty average studios, some were on their last legs. ms gave them a lifeline - so that's nice of them.
How do you quantify 'way more powerful'? Very technical assertion windows central.
Sony has already though, and their acquisitions put ms to shame. Going to be another long gen for ms.
Seems they weren't - this was supposed to revealed at GDC.

Like he said not all tflops are created equal.
Mark explained all that, and said they'd at least need to have speed of 700gbs.
It's a much better option than proprietary hardware produced by one company.

Seems it still went over some peoples head.

It was a 'deep dive' into PS5 architecture - there was never going to be a PS5 or games shown. Next time they talk about it we should see something.
And no proprietary SSD expansion either. That's a surprise, a pleasant surprise at that.
Gotta do what ya gotta do - 10 beers after work wasn't the best thing to do haha. Made it though. Very interesting and just the tip of the iceberg.
Careful with the 'T' word - isn't very well liked around here. They know what they're doing and it's just pathetic.
Either do it or don't - going about it all sneaky is a clear reflection of them as people.
The expandable SSD is m2 form factor but needs to run a little faster than the internal one in the PS5.
Because they only have 2 i/o units instead of 5, which is what the PS5 one has. The extra speed is needed to cover for the lack of chips.
Wrong or right, it just means no proprietary SSD - Yeeehhaawww! That's the first victory of next gen I'd say.
At least I think that's right, started at 3am in Australia and I had few b...
How far would far enough? Would it matter at the end of the day if it was on PS4?
Exactly what I'm expecting - hopefully they show a little teaser of something, but I doubt it.
Maybe - maybe not, you don't think creating something from scratch and nurturing it will garner any satisfaction?
I reckon it would and it would actually be more.
Everything is so black and white isn't it mate.
There's no guarantees champ - that's why Sony deserve all the credit they get. No game is a sure thing - especially a new ip.
One console maker has a diverse 1st party line up - one relies on i...
