Bronx - There's a reason the dev community is excited to develop for PS5 - a little critical thought goes a long way.
We'll see come launch.
Hopefully they don't have a future - wishful thinking for sure.
Heaps of thought went into the xsx - it's a beast, but I think they went about more conventionally.
Ones an evolution, the other a revolution.
Be prepared for some head scratching come launch time.
Dolby is the VHS - DTS is BETA - is how I'd put it. I always preferred DTS-ES when I had my Home Theatre. The Haunting (dud film) in DTS-ES was a stand out, it would destroy shitty speakers. A true audio reference disc.
Zeref - You just complimented Sony, because that's what they're doing without paying royalties to Dolby - which equates to keeping costs down.
"What do you think Windows Sonic is? You can use that on any device on your Xbox or PC for free and it's just as good as Atmos".
Seems you agree with Mark but are conflicted internally haha.
Yep - this wasn't the PS5 'debut', that was last year in an even less understated manner - a random article.
Sony hasn't even begun showing off the juggernaut that will be PS5. I'm expecting a internet meltdown when they actually do have their reveal event.
And Mark also explained that it's easier to optumise 36 cu's over 52 cu's.
xsx is using brute force to get the jon done - the traditional PC method so to speak. Could be an increase in cost going with that method.
PS5 is going about it differently, by not being a straight up steambox. It's actually designed with thought and a little thinking outside the box.
Traditional metrics for measuring performance get thrown out t...
And have the better software - it's already getting a console exclusive at launch.
Again - PS3 exclusives looked better than anything on 360, what did you see?
Haha - the difference is CPU and GPU is nothing, look at xonex and PS4Pro. And PS4Pro games look EASILY hold their own.
The big differentiator will be the SSD, Mark ain't an ms pleb - he's ridiculously smart.
There was no double speak, no hyperbole - just straight facts.
Wait until we see some 1st party games.
I thought Mark also said RT was part of the PS5, seems there's a little selective hearing going on.
Yep - Nothing like a useless feature to appease the masses. The consoles will load that fast it won't even matter.
Hold onto your coffee - its going to be a shock for some.
I'll believe Mark any day of the week. I've said it many times - he's the smartest bloke in the room.
The proof will be in the pudding, Sony 1st party will do wonders with PS5 hardware.
But not every PC has an SSD, that's the problem. And its really only Star Citizen that is coded a similar way to how a PS5 game will be coded.
PCI-e 4.0 is needed also, so there'll be a few upgrades incoming - probably a little more expensive than a PS5 too.
pork - They're saving the big news for the "actual reveal event" - now that still may not include BC. But you'd be a fool to think Sony has shown it's hand.
Just genuine exclusives - I know what I'd prefer. I'll still own a PS4, so no issues here.
Razzer - Lucky you've got a PC, best of both worlds I'd say. PS5 will sell itself - especially once 1st party titles are shown.
porkchop - so was GDC, still got the message out.
I think the hardest part in dev design is deciding where to cut corners and how to utilise the bandwidth at hand. PS5 should eliminate most of that worry.
It's not a determining factor for me, although when I was explaining PS5 to me old man - the first thing asked is if it plays PS4 games.
Personally I'm only interested in NEW games - bar maybe 5 or 10 games - and even then I've played them to death.
A good old Movie or song age better than old video games, yes there's a few exceptions - but by and large - why bother?
Bring on the new games
