"For example, if the 720 does have a bluray, then I really don't need a PS3 anymore and won't need a PS4. If the 720 doesn't come with bluray, then I will need to keep my PS3 and maybe upgrade to a PS4 just so that I have the option of games but primarily have a bluray player."
Conversely, if your main interest is in owning a blu ray player, you won't need to opt for a next gen console in order to get one.
@Septic Take a look around, what is going on here? The first half of this comment section is a circle wank of people talking about fanboys and getting tons of agrees and bubbles up. Then look at the lower half; where are all these fanboys who disgust you so much? They, apparently, are discussing the rumor and whether or not this type of add on will hinder the production of hardcore games.
You can get off your high horse and take off that white knight armor because it's pl...
In reply to the pile of horseshit below:
Fans do not = Fanboys. If you haven't noticed fans do not regularly agree with the fanboys in every article no matter which company you support, so you guys can stop derailing every article that comes through here. You guys are crowding up the comments section with nonsense.
Bubbles up for calling out fanboys?? I once heard that calling out fanboys of a certain group only shows that you yourself are a fanboy with ...
The main thing isn't even a lack of games for me, it's that I know they're lowering the price as soon as next gen system are revealed. I would hate to be an early adopter in that situation.
It might also help if current gen games weren't of higher quality than what's currently on WiiU.
I think you're trolling because nobody here has said the vita is a raging success. The general misconception I see among commenters is that the WiiU has done better than it's current HD competitors, which is not true.
It's expected to sell 1m less than the PS3 did in the same time frame at launch. And the PS3 didn't even launch in EU until late march 2007.
edit: grammar
You're wrong. WiiU's launch wasn't horrible but the sales afterward are. It never sold out like some fans claim it did, either. Let me post some facts since you seem convinced that the WiiU had the best launch of all 3 HD consoles (that being PS3, Xbox360, and WiiU).
PS3 launched in Nov. for US and Japan. By March 31 2007 (3 days after European luanch) PS3 had shipped 5 million, down 1m from Sony's own 6m forecast. Keep in mind this, at the time, was considere...
New consoles are supposed to be better and perform better than old consoles. I guess you can chalk it up to lazy porting but third party games have actually been worse on WiiU.
Resistance Fall of Man was leaps and bounds better than Black. So yes I expect next gen games to be better than current consoles, otherwise what's the point in "upgrading" to a new system.
It had a good enough launch line up but I can't ignore the fact that nothing they have has topped the games that are releasing on current generation systems.
In other words when are they going to surpass ps3 and xbox360.
I didn't expect this to compete with tlou but this looks terrible.
Well you guys went to pretty extreme lengths to bash the guy. He has no say in whether or not newer systems would block used games sales.
Aw man, I hate to say but you're grasping at straws here. A LEGO game is not a system seller, I believe you'll realize that when next gen systems demonstrate their first and third party showcase.
If I had to guess, I'd say Monolith's game will sell systems, but it won't boost the WiiU to "first place" like some fans are hoping.
EDIT: I just want to add that whoever started the Myth that WiiU is doing better than ps3/360 should be...
They were relevant to me.. I had both the n64 and Gamecube but I won't get a Wiiu until I see games that are as good or better than ps360 games.
As long as the handheld market is strong, for sure they will be relevant. This isn't to knock the WiiU or the PSVita for that matter. I just don't think even some of the most hardcore fans are willing to pay $400 for outdated games when newer consoles are ready to be shown.
Third party support is going to fall short if third party developers are optimizing their engines to run on ps4/720 and don't find the neccessary player base to buy these games on WiiU, just li...
Not sure what you said but I like it. You're hired.
I don't understand why so many disagrees for predicting the price to drop soon. I think it's a logical assumption considering it worked out pretty well the last time.
Ahem, the WiiU is 399. If they match Nintendo in price and blow them out the water in games, then... wow.
I don't see this happening, though.
Price drop Incoming. If not now, very soon.
I can see Microsft ditching xbox live gold and sticking with this always online nonsense.
Killzone Mercenary? ;P
