Well, if someone gets addicted to it, sure. If you're talking WoW type MMO fans though, that are already anti-social misfits - they'll stay the same with it. I mean, most of those worst case gamers are at a level they can't go beyond anyways. If it's just replacing regular gaming for someone though, and they play it the same amount of time as they usually play - it should be no different.
Yeah, and their hubris got shot down immediately. Yet, they didn't 180 until they realized that had no possible other choice with Sony in such favor of the consumers. It was a bad 180 too, cuz there was no excuse for all the 180s other than they were forced too. Still though, fanboys tried to turn it into something great and being about Microsoft listening. LMAO, they were listening to the sound of money flying away from them and into Sony's vault, that's what they heard that caus...
I don't understand all this, if it's the same guy that put the letter out in 2012, then ok. If this is recent though, it doesn't make sense. Sony already made it clear that Morpheus is gonna be pushed as a social VR, with the ability to output the screen to TV simultaneously and do local co-op. They already were talking about online play too, which was obvious with it being for PS4. It seems VR is set to be social out the box.
I haven't played much of DmC since the first 1 or 2. Until the free PS+ one on PS3 a few months ago, that I only got 1 or 2 bosses in on. I'm all for it if they actually try to optimize and upgrade it to fully utilize next gen consoles power.
I love how there's no mention of Capcom anywhere at all. It's like they know it'll bring negativity to even mention the name.
Microsoft won't be able to instill horrible anti-consumer policies and rob developers and publishers in shady deals they can't refuse. They don't have that strangle-hold anymore. Their parity rule is dying, because only a few loyal publishers are forcing their devs to adhere to it like Activision with COD. And even with that, they adhere to it up to release day and add a day 1 patch to upgrade the PS4 version, in the case of Ghosts from 900p to 1080p. It happened to be a bad move ...
Awesome! It'll make it that much easier to back you without hesitation in the future. (As long as it's always a good game to go with your good will towards gaming consumers.) ;)
@kryteris, if you mean the X1 and PS4 - no, they aren't. They are both AMD GCN APUs, that is the only similarity. Ontop of the raw shader power of the PS4 being 40%+ stronger, PS4 has FULLY unified GDDR5 ram that is feeding that APU. X1 has the mix 'n match with the DDR3 and 32mb ESRAM. All those things added together make for very different potential outputs the GPUs can push.
Well, things sure turned around. Sony is doing the opposite of what he was afraid of in 2012 with Morpheus. They are already copyrighting certain phrases that have to do with the social gaming with VR. They already mentioned the ability for Morpheus to output to the TV also, so people can play local co-op. Multiplayer online with Morpheus is gonna be a no brainer also. So, he may have been right to feel that way at the time. I'm sure he sees that the anti-social aspect shouldn't be an...
@lemoncake, Actually, the way they intend on going about it hasn't been done for years in gaming. It's new tech in the way they intend on using it for certain cued calculations and processing areas of these games. It has potential for way more problems than just losing connection like in an MMO. It can have all sorts of hiccups and artifacts along with other miscalculations and early/late data transfers. It's no the same as streaming a whole game or just playing an MMO.
Yeah, alot of the maps do, Stonehenge is just way more noticeably crappy. It's kinda sad when you think about the Frostbite Engine and how much larger the maps are, then the fact that there's vehicles everywhere and like 5x as many players on screen causing mayhem with explosions and bullets. Sure, BF4 was a disaster, because of rushing, but the engine is still way more of an optimized engine that COD's.
Plus, you can't even invite someone to a game or go to d...
I think the "prove it" mentality is also coming from people not trusting Microsoft. Not just the idea of what the cloud can do. It's that Microsoft is the one saying this, the same way they overhyped DX11.2's X1 benefits with that BS isolated demo about how much GB info they can load in the 32mb ESRAM. They've already been called on it by industry experts too. DX11.2's 'Tiled Resources' and it's X1 counterpart was really just Microsoft catching up to PS4&...
@strangeaeon, It's always better to have all the power coming from the box itself. That's the main point. There's many many more issues that can arise from the cloud taking on main calculations that have to be able to feed back and operate in real-time space on the user end.
The part where he talks about doing tessellation right got me thinking of COD: Ghosts. The Stonehenge map has the worst form of tessellation on those hills. You can be 20 ft from them and walk forward and back and see the rocky hills changing shape like crazy. They did it the cheap dummy coder way of just letting it auto-subdivide and not even setting the view distance right so you don't see it popping like crazy.
Yeah, then whenever Live or your ISP has any type of even small issues - your game is either unplayable or degraded to a nice looking 360 game.
It looks like it could be alright.
I kinda like the name of the game.
We need the great indies to continue to grow their teams to the point they are as big as AAA, but still stay indie. The publishers are always the one's doing the crap to rip us off through rushed buggy games to day-1 $ DLC and other nonsense.
You can never have too much survival horror. Heh, I like their dev logo.
You know why there is no local mp3 support or dlna server option right now ofcourse correct? It's extremely obvious that they are doing it to grab as many Music/Video Unlimited subscriptions out of frustration as they can right now. I mean, Shuhei said something about not realizing how huge the call for those options were. I don't like lies. Sony has done so much right, and been so open and closer to a heavenly company like Valve recently that I hate to say it, but they are on some BS...
"5 – Thou Shalt Remember That Silence Is Golden!"
Oh well, straight to hell goes 95% of the lil buggers.
