It runs great on 3 PCs in my house. One desktop with an AMD CPU w/580GTX w/4GB RAM(runs on high settings on W7), another desktop with a i7-920 w/780GTX Classy w/12GB RAM(Ultra on W7), and one laptop i7-4700MQ w/780m w/16GB RAM(Ultra on W8.1). I guess I'm just lucky. It was crashing the first couple weeks but has been damn stable since. I cannot speak for any consoles though.

Pretty much sums up "console" sales lol.

I'm still rocking an i7-920 from 2009! I may upgrade on the next series released by Intel but don't really see the need right now. But I do believe that it is the cause of my bottleneck during synthetic benchmarks. I get an average between 8400-8500 on 3DMark Firestrike with my 780 Classy.

Bought this earlier. My son loves the Lego games and I usually get them for his 360. Going to be introducing him to my Steam account soon so this was perfect for that transition! Love PC gaming! It's so cheap! (after initial purchase, of course) :)

Hahah so true!! I'm sitting at over 475 from sales, trades, and bundles!

I won't lie. There is an addiction here. :P

I personally believe that the PC provides more freedom and a better gaming experience. That's what "I" believe.... maybe not "you!"

But in the end, this is PC vs Console in a nutshell:

Seriously, just game on!

Since most digital sales companies (i.e Valve, GMG, GOG, Gamersgate) do not publish their revenue, where do you get your data? 60+ million Steam users alone suggests possible big revenue. There is more evidence supporting a "guess" (since that is all one can do) against your claim than for it.

Kickstarted this, and happy I did!

"One thing that console games ALWAYS have over PC games is polish."

Yup, PS3 version of Skyrim says Hello!

When RDR was being being built, PC gaming was pretty low on the revenue chart. Steam (digital in general) was just starting to pick up and there was no guarantee that R* would make money from a hard/digital copy. These games take forever to make (5 years for GTAV). So it makes sense to me why R* never made a PC version. Could they just make a port? I'm sure they could. But I have no clue how hard THAT even is. Not a game developer here. :P

I've been using the same i7-Core 920 CPU, ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 Motherboard, and Corsair TX750 since 2009. Yes, I've upgraded from an nVidia 280, to an nVidia 580, and now an nVidia 780 Classified since then but not because I "had" to. I just prefer to have upper tier GPUs. And guess what? IT STILL ALL WORKS PERFECTLY!

If that was your experience, then it's your own fault for not doing the proper research before purchasing components. You just sound lazy (n...

Looks awesome! Remember, nobody gave Sony a chance when they broke away from the Nintendo "CDROM" deal and created their own console. This COULD be a game changer! The future looks exciting! If you aren't intrigued, at least a bit, then you are too biased.

Remember, Steam was considered pointless when it came out. Why would anybody ever go digital over hard copy, they said? We know how THAT turned out! Give this OS some time to mature. You may be in for a surprise in a few years! If anything, this pushes Microsoft to maximize their potential on making current and future versions of Windows more gamer friendly. Win/Win for us PC Gamers!

Runs great on my system. It was a rough first couple weeks but been pretty flawless since (minus some rubber banding). No regrets pre-ordering as I have almost 40 hours played.

The only game that I can recall that does it borderline acceptable is Guild Wars 2.

Author says: "Half-Life 2 was not that special of a game."

I say: Most who have played Half-Life 2 and say, "It was nothing special," played it 3+ years after it was released and combined with The Orange Box. I'm sure Pac-Man was AWESOME when it came out. Well, 3+ years down the road it probably lost its luster also. If you played HL2 upon release, it was truly something special that left a BIG impression. The Source engine w/Havoc physics blew away co...

Also, what people do not understand is that backers are buying MULTIPLE ships and packages. Like, daily! Since they have Life-Time Insurance (LTI) on select ships from pledging, RSI has been offering ships with LTI to them. One offer just ended today. They cannot control their spending! Just genius!

I am mainly a PC gamer but I also own all consoles (minus the PS4/X1). My PS3 that I bought back in 2007 is still kicking but I am on my 2nd X360. You will never hear me use the reasoning of "consoles breaking" to justify PC being a cheaper gaming platform. With that said, if you know where and when to buy games for the PC (i.e. Steam sales, greenmangaming, gamersgate, cdkey websites, steamtrades, ebay, humble bumdles, etc), you "could" make up the costs that consoles gene...

What is funny is that you probably own a computer too. Which means you spent, what you claim only $780 but fail to mention all the $60 games, batteries, controllers, other peripherals, PLUS the price of a PC/MAC to do work and whatever else on the internet. PC gamers not only get ALL their games cheaper (Steam sales, Greenmangaming, many CD Key sites, steamtrades.com, humble bundles, etc.) but also have a machine that is multi-purpose. Next time, please compare fairly if you plan on comparing...
