just played the demo.....holy hell is it scary! Might be worth grabbing for $20.
they want their Packard Bell 486SX/33 back....
...need a boot disk?
if it is in fact exactly the same as BF:BC2....then it will hardly blow...
Another classic moment was the ringing the gong to open Ahn'Quiraj....dunno why WoW never had a world event as such ever again...probably because it was crashing the zone lol.....dunno about you all, but on Bloodscalp I was getting DC'd every 2-3 minutes...still was a classic moment...
Definite buy for me...
If you were bored to tears....what did you expect from a "Chess" game? I mean honestly...its...chess...and its packed with tons of modes....but the fact remains...its...chess... :)
Regardless if it's your cup of tea, i just love how PCs provide you the option. Consoles have their place...but when it comes to versatility, PC owns. You can take a "old and washed up" game and make it fun again....(speaking in general)
Too bad I never played GTAIV on the PC...had it for the 360. But I would definitely give it another whirl if I did.
Bruce Lee was awesome on the c64....especially playing the fat green guy who was there to distract Bruce lol....classic
the "WoW killer"....Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
I had so much hope, but it was heavily over-hyped...basically self inflicted by Paul Barnett
Guess it worked tho...sold close to a million copies (or shipped, can't remember)...then subs dwindled faster than any MMO I've ever seen...
Tier 1 is still fun tho! lol
.....until NOW!
Those Gamescom videos were impressive and the idea behind the World vs World PvP reminds me a hint of the best PvP system to date, DAoC RvR. Just a hint, i say!...at least its 3 different teams!(tho all the same races/classes)
Why did it take so long for a developer to see gamers like a little ménage à trois in their pvp? :)
For some reason the Steam version of these games have issues with Windows 7 (probably not everybody but definitely a lot of us). 3-5 minute load times and the audio is not in sync with the video in cut-scenes (audio is about 5 seconds behind the video). Another issue is that whenever I hit ESC to go to the main screen mid-game, it will take roughly a minute to continue the game. Been searching for fixes...came across a fix that cut the loading down by about half the time but no fix in sigh...
I typed my first reply without reading the article. haha....promotional Steam cards were given out with HL2 for free. Way to state the obvious, me!
Think about it....what is required to play HL2? Steam. Though I'm sure that 99% of the ppl at Gamescom 2010 have heard of Steam, not everybody uses it....yet. It's a good way to get ppl into Steam. Once they install HL2 tonight, they will see sells like the STALKER bundle immediately available for $9.99....hook, line, and sinker.
....let us mod!
I agree with everything you said....
A couple more things to add:
- Pre-load feature for games about to come out....get to play immediately at release
- Being able to buy games anytime on your account.....holidays?...midnig ht?...yup, they are open.....how about Best Buy? GameStop?....not unless it's a GOTY contender....
Too many pros over weigh any cons concerning Steam
So far I've bought:
Mass Effect 2
L4D2 x 2 (one for my son)
Torchlight
Borderlands
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
My wife can't wait till the 4th to come and pass....oh another awesome thing I got this week, but not from Steam, was Office 2010 Professional ($499 value) for $9.95....military discount :)
Been one hell of a week!
Just stole it for $10....just wow...
The title of this article is misleading to who is to blame. It makes it sound like Valve failed when the real failure "pointed out in the article" is Apple. Kudos to Valve trying but I see what the author was trying to get at....Apple is fail.
I could be wrong but if the title said something like "Valve is trying but Apple is not supporting", the article would get a better reception.
Still a long way off but I'm extremely excited for Guild Wars 2.
