It amazes me that anyone would disagree with this. Are people Metal Gear fans misreading this as some sort of attack? Or are there really people out there who legitimately believe that sales data is an accurate metric of game quality?
How is it well deserved?
The PS4 doesn't have any good exclusive games yet, the WiiU does. The PS4 doesn't have any form of backwards compatibility, the WiiU does.
From where I stand, the PS4's sales are purely a product of hype and very much undeserved.
And Nintendo has failed to meet my bare minimum expectations.
I wish I could say I'm surprised, but I'm not.
The simple fact of the matter is that good romances are very rare in gaming, and great ones? Even rarer.
This generation simply hasn't had any. Closest we've had IMO would be Valkyria Chronicles.
Just out of curiosity: what kind of assburger/morons are disagreeing with this post? Really?
@Kenshin: your point? I said "news pertaining to," not "a localization announcement for."
Release dates/windows are, in fact, news.
Eh, MegaTen and Tales Of games just don't have that same kind of feel as a good Final Fantasy. Few games do--Suikoden II and V certainly do, as do most of the Dragon Quest games, though.
I'm currently playing Final Fantasy V for the first time on my tablet.
Essentially, Bravely Default seems to be (at least so far as up to Chapter 3) a remake of FFV.
After The Hobbit, I'm about all Orced out.
Hope they have some good enemy variety in this game.
Sounds about right. At the bare minimum, I expect:
-Dragon Quest VII announced for 3DS.
-Dragon Quest X announced for WiiU.
-Hyrule Warriors for WiiU dated.
-Smash Brothers for WiiU and 3DS dated.
-Sonic Boom for WiiU.
-Yarn Yoshi for WiiU.
It's less likely, but we may also see news pertaining to:
Monster Hunter Frontier G (WiiU)
Monster Hunter 4 (3DS)
Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emble...
Fingers crossed for Dragon Quest localization announcements. They've registered the trademarks, and a rough estimate places a release window in Q3 or Q4 2014 if localization began shortly after release in Japan.
Wow. That's a whole lot of overpriced DLC.
No.
But consider: would The Last of Us be equally good in your eyes if you could ONLY play multiplayer locally?
The difference is that online multiplayer is industry standard.
And if a thing does not meet those standards, it is--be definition--deficient.
All Nintendo needs to do is sell games and market games. Their problem is they aren't doing much of either.
Invest in the virtual console service and core gamers will buy WiiUs; advertise the virtual console service and casual gamers will buy a WiiU.
Doth mine eyes deceive? NES Open Tournament Golf? Can it be true? Clearly, Nintendo has looked at their failing sales numbers and decided to fight back by aggressively selling their greatest classic games through the virtual console service.
Blue skies are here again.
Are the Ace Combat games playable yet?
I have a big box of PS2 games, and no machines to play 'em on.
Might and Magic IX is a newer game, but it feels a little more dated because it's much less polished. That said, I'm enjoying it quite a bit more than Grimrock. Here are some disordered thoughts in bullet-point form:
-MM9 emphasizes combat over puzzle-solving, although there ARE still a few puzzles and hidden things (secret doors that require spells/abilities to see). Combat is "similar" to Grimrock as it's from a first-person perspective and mouse-based...
Same here. Those puzzles just got too damned tedious.
I'm loving the hell out of Might and Magic X right now. I really hope Grimrock 2 tries to make combat more dynamic than Grimrock 1.
No, they had a clear plan, it was just stupid. They expected everyone who bought a Wii to also buy a WiiU.
I'm still waiting for an update that will let us hide icons, or better--uninstall the various mandatory applications. Especially if Sony insists on adding new applications.
Seriously, they're being really stupid. Many gamers have already run into problems with the Vita's finite page limit. Couple that with an increasing number of mandatory applications, most of which I can't imagine anyone ever uses (show of hands, people: how many of you opened up Near a seco...
