It's certainly Nintendo's win for now, and Sony certainly has the most potential to "win" the generation (again)... but, sadly, most of that potential is currently unrealized.

It's a sad state of affairs when a company's new gaming platform is markedly inferior to it's old platform. I know fanboys will freak out at that sentence, but maybe if I say "obviously I'm not talking about hardware specifications" I'll dissuade a a rabid...

Agreed. The UI sucks.

But it's not really an issue until the PS4 has new games. The WiiU has a better UI, but only by a little, and it's lack of proper organization options is really only beginning to be a problem.

Of course, if the rumors about Sony introducing PS1/PS2 software emulation this year--even if only for PSN copies--pans out, that could change very rapidly.

I'll be honest: I really don't understand half of what this person is saying. I also take issue with the premise that miniscule visual changes are more important than the massive influx of new songs, better menu organization, etc.

Then again, I'm not a "hardcore" rhythm gamer.

You forgot to add XBL/PS+ subscriptions for online.

It's okay. D-Pad placement is very odd. It's main drawing point is that it has a battery life of like 80 hours, versus the gamepad's 2.

Well that was a lot of poorly written text.

Basically the guy is just whining that it's a "trilogy" instead of an "expansion," and (tries to) argues that partitioning out the content into three pieces somehow does a disservice to consumers.

Only worthwhile thing is the Baldur's Gate screenshot.

If so, that's really impressive, but developers--especially at E3--have such a long and storied history of showing off CGI and calling it gameplay that I'm not gonna be able to fully believe it until I see it for myself.

Hm... maybe, but that statement is still suspect as the trailer very clearly wasn't gameplay. At best you could argue it was a cinematic rendered in-game, but the camera angles make it pretty clear it wasn't gameplay.

Screw the platform. All Dragons Dogma 2 needs to be is a thing that exists.

4397d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's just a CGI trailer, though, right? If the actual game were in that state, they'd have been able to show off more than a 30-second teaser. It also wouldn't look so obviously better than anything else on the WiiU.

Glad to know they're focusing on the things that matter.

Exactly.

It's the same situation as the Doctor of Doctor Who. But there's always outcry from people who think they can hide their bigotry by calling it "tradition."

I'm not suggesting anything of the sort. But I stand by my assertion that only bigots would be outraged by the thought of a black Link, or female Link, or what have you.

You didn't seem outraged. Are you? That's a question only you can answer, but if you are, you might be due for a bit of self-reflection.

....

Anyway, your argument has zero merit. There is no "canon" Link--you DO realize every Link in (almost) every game...

Native Americans have every right to the word, considering it's not a label they invented themselves.

Its not the fans who would have outrage, but bigots.

Nintendo will only win E3 if they announce some Dragon Quest localization.

Otherwise the best they can hope for is second place, behind the Nintendo-that-should-have-been .

Short memory you have, I see. The PS3 arguable "won" the last generation, and it had even less games in its first few years than the WiiU. Hell, it wasn't until year 3 that it had more than 1-2 titles worth buying.

4402d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Agreed. It's almost a steampunk aesthetic with that whole "magic technology" thing.

I'm a bit worried about the open-world aspect, as most developers usually take several games to figure out how to do open-world "right." Hell, Rockstar invented the modern open-world game and they didn't perfect the concept until RDR.

That said, Nintendo is not "most developers."

The absence of Final Fantasy XV, Kingdoms Hearts 3, and The Last Guardian was monumentally disappointed.

The only thing of note Sony had to offer IMHO were a few really short teaser trailers for Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne, both of which failed to reveal anything we didn't already know.

So, yeah, to me Sony's conference was a big letdown. But I've been a gamer so I'm really used to being letdown by E3. I was surprised to see Microsoft unveil so...

American indians are native Americans. American-Indians are Americans of Indian descent.

Capitalization and hyphens matter!
