Descent? Earthworm Jim? Really?
Let's see some Freespace love. I mean, come on, it's the only game in the history of gaming that actually managed to write a decent story involving randomly evil aliens! Come on!
I don't get all the hate for this game. It's a fun game. It's got essentially the same battle system as Magna Carta 2. The story is well-executed, if cliched (but that didn't stop the Dragon Age circlejerking, now did it) and the music and art-design is all top-tier.
Every review I've read seems like it was written by some one who either only played the game for an hour or so, or didn't play it at all.
...WKC is a beautiful, well-crafted game. It only has ONE big flaw--an atrociously-designed GUI. That's it. In terms of art design, music, style, it blows most of Factor 5's previous games out of the water--especially Dark Cloud.
After Dragon Age, I would have laughed and laughed and said Bioware has yet to come close to a game of similar quality to Shadows of Amn, after more than a decade.
After Mass Effect 2, all I can say is... yeah, these guys are getting phenomenally better. Can't wait for ME3, assuming it's an improvement. And everyone bemoaning ME3 on the PS3? Well, I can kind of understand... but you ought to consider grabbing it for PC, if nothing else. It's a game you do NOT want to miss, and it...
2.28? That's not bad... but still 2.28GB more than it should have been. Just one more reason for me to priorize END OF ETERNITY over WKC. Granted, I'm still getting WKC on launch day... but.....
So would I be correct in assuming GT3 has bottom-tier writing, terrible animations, and godawful modeling work and decent environments?
Yeah... if there's one word that comes to mind when I think of those three games, it's "classic."
Yikes, that IGN article is atrocious. All those complaints fit far, far better with WRPGs than JRPGs. The only reason they (and so many other gaming media types) are able to pretend otherwise would be either sheer incompetence, or simple racism. My money is on the latter.
Why on earth do these lame-ass articles keep popping up?
OF COURSE people care. The only possible motivation out there for claiming it's not an issue is if you are getting paid money, by Sony, to hold that opinion. B/C is a major issue, and the PS3's sudden lack of such a feature is an even bigger issue than it would have been had B/C never been implemented to begin with.
Sony basically said (as they tend to do) "**** You" to their consumers, and most of y...
I thought there were "dating" style mini-games with this one, too... that were rumored to be cut/censored.... would have been nice to see a mention. Maybe they're really gone for the NA version?
Eh... shemale in any context means no-buy for me.
I did see some comparisons between the two versions--PS3 version had a typically effiminate-looking villain type, whereas the 360 version had a typically stupidly-over-the-top muscled brute. Not real subtle, those Japanese, are they?
Seriously--a chick with a penis? Who on Earth thought that idea up--and better yet, who approved the idea? Seriously, who on this planet thinks gamers are sitting around thinking, "I...
This game would be a must-buy for me... if not for the lady with a penis. That ain't cool.
Thankfully, End of Eternity is coming around the same time, and looks like it might be able to fill in that RPG-sized hole.
I'd probably be a lot more interested in this game if it didn't have a tranny protagonist.
I mean--really? Shemales? And here I thought all the metrosexuals were bad enough as it was.

You will see some slang used often throughout the manga:
Teek: Telekinetic
Teep: Telepath
PI: Psi-Index (a PI 10 is a powerful telepath/telekinetic)

Well, I suppose it's a more subtle rip-off of B5 than Mass Effect.
Gonna have to call bullshit on this one. No way is Square-Enix stupid enough to wait six years to release a game that took 2 years to develop. That's Sony-level dumbassery.
Same here. Yakuza games should be like Yakuza movies... in Japanese. It just doesn't feel right, either. The same holds true for Samurai games. I wonder if it'll be the same kind of half-and-half dubbing in Way of the Samurai 3.
In WotS3, even if you chose English audio, a good deal of the sound was still in Japanese.
There are approximately zero upcoming 360 games I'm looking forward to. Well, perhaps Fable 3, but I wouldn't expect that any time soon. I imagine I'll sell my 360 before the summer starts.
Anyone who even attempts to argue that Backward Comparability isn't a worthwhile or desired feature is as much of an idiot as there could possibly be, and isn't worth arguing.
But the sheer number of such morons... it's astounding, at the very least. Maybe it's partially due to some viral PR campaign on Sony's part?
Are there even 25 PS1 games in the PSN store?
I mean, it seems that most of the big games are still missing.
All suprisingly good points, but I think the number one concern with Mass Effect 3 is to give the Reapers some depth. Right now, they're just mindless killing machines, virtually identical to so many other sci-fi-baddies. Mass Effect did well to "borrow" so much as it did from Babylon 5, but they should have taken a closer look at the Shadows. The Reapers need to reach a similar level of depth, I think. Destroying all life on a whim is just... too goddamn cliched.
Mass ...
