No, you're really not. Your PS4 is largely redundant with your PC, and your missing out on all of the PS3, PS2 and PS1 games by not having a PS3.
Qualify that to "only modern console" and I'd agree.
But the PS3 exists and has a fantastic library.
There's a reason hardware manufacturers are trying to make generations shorter: because games are so much more expensive and time consuming to make, they want to make more money off of hardware sales.
The end result of a shorter lifespan is fewer games of lesser quality.
Its baffling to me that fellow gamers would try and pretend past console generations were equally short in order to defend these kinds of anti-consumer practices.
But if ...
This early in the lifespans there really isn't a lot to like. Exclusives tend to be rushed and mediocre, and then there's that anti-consumer nonsense of axing b/c in order to sell ports of recent games.
Then there's Sony's PS4 which has a really gimped OS compared to its predecessor and their abysmal support of the Vita, the new fees for online, etc.
Not to mention all the hastily built AAAs that disappointed and the handful of genuinely good...
Nope. Nintendo has only had a few of the spinoffs, like Orochi or SengokuMusou.
The WiiU is barely more than 2 years old. And it has a MUCH better library than the PS3 had at the same point in its lifespan.
If you want to dismiss the WiiU, by all means do so, but at least try to conjure up a valid argument.
The same is true of nearly every platform. First years tend to suck. Hell, even now the PS4 has what, only two notable exclusive games?
First years suck. This is and has been a truism of the industry for a very long time.
Like most Nintendo platforms, the WiiU'problem isn't its hardware... Or its software... But rather Nintendo itself.
Both in terms of how backwards the company is and how they've allowed their brand to be divorced from the mainstream industry post-SNES.
...Not gonna happen. Square Enix has yet to produce a single good FF game; the high expectations for FFXV demonstrate quite clearly that the brand matters more than the content. XenobladeX could be the best JRPG ever--and still be overshadowed by FFXV's terribleness, mediocrity, or (unlikely though it may be) or success.
Yeah, I don't know why I have so many bubbles. I tend to be honest and critical and ythat kind of thing really pisses off the fanboys we have here.
Most limited editions aren't all that limited. You can still find the ALBW LEs on sale below MSRP.
I expect the OS will still have fewer features than the XMB even by the time the PS5 rolls out.
You're absolutely correct on the lack of online infrastructure. But after that one valid point you nosedive into "stupid troll" territory.
For the moment I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume only the first adjective applies: it would be monumentally stupid for Sony, or anyone, to abandon support for a console so early. That kind of thing is devastating for consumer confidence. Even if the WiiU were a bad platform (it's not) pulling support w...
Right, but keep in mind that every 3D Zelda game to date has featured wide, open areas that were empty. I'm not saying this will be the case for ZeldaU, but Nintendo simply has not demonstrated any real skill at designing large areas. Nor are they very experienced with open world game design in general.
And generally speaking, because ZeldaU is Nintendo's first open world game, they're likely to make a LOT of mistakes with it.
He means "port," people, not "remake." You all need to seriously lower your expectations.
I'm not sure any game would be a bad point of entry. Well, maybe Majora's Mask. I know MM's apparent complexity turns a lot of people off. And, of course, the NES games.
Yeah. To be fair, though, a big part of that is due to the PS4 getting a lot of positive press with its reveal and Microsoft getting a ton of negative press with theirs.
What's really sad is how much less well the WiiU is selling, because it does have several big releases now. It reminds me a lot of the PS3 in its first several years: the sales just don't reflect the quality of the platform or its library. Unlike the PS3, though, I don't see the WiiU pulling a rev...
I got about $150 worth of games so far. Blew through 3D Land in about a day. Here's hoping the plat rewards are decent. Like MK8-decent.
Nah, Mac gamers still have it rough.
You'll notice that the only N64 and NDS games they're showing off are first party titles. It wouls seem Nintendo is -still- unable to get third parties to work with them on the Virtual Console.
