People don't know what words mean. This is nothing new.
Since when is pointing out that the GoW series has bad writing trolling? It's commonly excepted that the two most important aspect of a GoW title are over-the-top violence and bottom-tier writing.
God of War had a writer? Funny--I didn't notice.
Get your facts straight. Square has done nothing wrong. It's the Square-Enix that brought us "gems" like FFX-2, FFXI, FFXII, FFXIII, FFXIV, FFXIII-2, FFXIV, FFXVI, and after that FFvsXIII that deserves your ire.
Good thing the Wii has been dead in North America for months: it would SUCK if there were actually games worth playing on it.
While I can (and often have) echoed your sentiments, it's worth pointing out that Musou games have a very distinctive feel for more than a decade now--the same feel you get when you see game released on the same engine.
It's sort of like Oblivion and Skyrim--sure, Skyrim has some improvements... but the basic engine is still very recognizable: it's clear the the developers didn't put much work into the "sequel." And it's not as though this is an...
This is a (half-assed) review, not a news story.
And to find this game good, the guy very clearly hasn't played any other.
EDIT: also a dupe. Guess this one fails from every conceivable angle.
David Jaffe is a lot like Peter Molyneux. They both are very prominent people in the Gaming industry... who have produced very little of merit.
Putting story before gameplay is an awful way to approach game design.
Of course... putting gameplay before story is ANOTHER awful way to approach game-design.
Both elements are (or should be) intrinsic to each other, and should be major focuses of development from day 1.
Holy shit this game looks awesome. Like a cross between ZOE2 and Encounters in Space.
I'm really looking forward to the battles with battleships. they look a lot of fun. And were my eyes deceiving me in those videos, or was there battle damage?
Shame there's no multiplayer, though. Senki was awesome.
Except we've already had customizable wardrobes. It just hasn't been MUCH customization.
As for hair, it's not like it has to be wildly different. Most versions of Link have a different hair style.
Your point is only legitimate in a world where every Link is 100% identical to every other one, and that ain't the world we live in.
Of course not. After the latest patch, I can't even launch Skyrim. Haven't played in weeks.
Considering how much of a non-character Link is in every game, and how little his gender effects... anything, I think it's surprising we haven't had the opportunity to pick a gender in a LoZ game for the past several years.
Beyond just choosing a gender, games with non-character protags like Link are pretty much tailor-made for character creation, so we ought to at least be able to do more the the hair and wardrobe.
I think I was blown away first and foremost by how awful the writing was, long before the graphics had a chance to impress me.
One more reason I'm not getting a Vita. The other big one being Sony ****ing up PSP game organization on the PS3--and by "***ing up" I mean "removing entirely."
At least this dick move actually has some semblance of an anti-piracy rationale behind it.
What a bunch of nothing. Guess I'll sell those 3 $20 PSN cards I've got. I'd been holding on to 'em for months hoping to see some more PS2 games get added, or Journey, or some other great game worth buying, but so far nothing's piqued my interest.
Maybe I should buy some of the EXVS DLC with a JPY card? Seems kinda overpriced for such a so-so game.
I hope they add stuff to the store. They started the PS2 classics in October, and haven't added to it's (very small) library since November.
Ah, FROM.
The people that gave us Dark Souls. And ACE:R.
Will AC5 suck? Will it be great? Will Gundam UC be great? will it suck?
With FROM, it's like flipping a goddamned coin.
The price of the memory card shouldn't be attached to software value, it should be added on to hardware value. Whether you import or not, you really NEED to buy a memory card for the Vita. If you can't play music, movies, view images, play PS1 or PSP games... you're barely using any of the functionality.
It's decent, which is about all anyone (with sense) expected it to be.
Gotta love the "determine your own fate" tag-line, considering Reckoning is about as open-ended as a pothole.
