If this were a PS3 title there'd be 50 posts about how the site was biased and the media is just downplaying the ps3. It's shocking to see how much of a difference there is between the typical 360 fanboy and the typical ps3 fanboy...
I thought it did, fable 2, left for dead, gears 2, ninja gaiden 2... Compared to what, resistance 2 and LBP?
Stoked, Halo Wars, Star Ocean, Race pro.
that's 3 more exclusives that the ps3 doesn't have...
It's not like 360 owners have:
Halo wars
stoked
star ocean
race pro
GTA lost and dammed
street fighter 4
resident evil.
all coming out in February.
I mean, what ever will they do without killzone.
It's like they're riding on the back of a tank...
they aren't generating the same growth as their competitors.
they aren't making profits on the ps3 hardware.
they aren't closing the gap between them and the 360.
they aren't generating as much money on peripherals.
they aren't producing the same software sales.
revenues do not equal profits. Just because something costs more doesn't mean it makes them more money. Again, if I sell something that cost me 10 dollars to make, for 15 dollars, I make 5 do...
Stoked, halo wars, star ocean 4 for my 360
killzone 2 for my ps3.
re5 and sf4 are both moot games, dunno what system I'll purchase them for.
so think about that for a moment, in 1 month I'll have bought 4 exclusive games, 3 of which are for the console most people tend to think has the weaker lineup.
1. the one who earns the most money on each system sold (profit), If one system costs $200 to make and on average sells for around $300 (ie net profit of $100), then it's going to make more then the system that costs $500 to make and has average sales of $450(ie net loss of $50).
2. the one who has the possibility of making the most money on accessories and add ons.
3. the one who increases their install base the most, and increases the ammount of money being gen...
shouldn't the ps2 be out selling the wii and 360?
Actually Microsoft is... Considering:
a) they make money on their accessories
Remember about that big speal that the ps3 is actually cheaper than both the wii and 360 because it provides a lot of extras... Well, it also means that it's not going to be selling as many peripherals, so it kinda works both ways...
b) they have a higher attach rate for games
And each console maker gets a cut of profits on games sold on their system.
c) the 360 is ...
bioshock is a steampunk Systemshock, which was a rip off of the marthon series, which was pretty much doom on a space ship, and doom is just labrynth with guns...
I still think that marathon is probably one of the most important FPS games ever made, sucks that it doesn't get the recognition it deserves though...
doom came out in 1993... So I wouldn't say goldeneye is either. So did half life...
the first console fps was aliens vs predators on the jaguar, followed by marathon(another bungie title) on the apple pipin...
And yes halo did revolutionize the fps genre (control scheme, match making, forge/video recording, and weapon layout to name some features), and it popularized a lot of the popular current trends. Like melee, vehicles, recharging health. Also halo was the first game that allowed multiple players ride and control a single vehicle seperately.
Ensemble really has captured the halo feel for the game, everything from structures to vehicles feel very halo-esque. I'd love to play this game as an FPS-RPG-RTS game, starting out as a marine in that game, with some huge forces moving through the world, big battles with one team as unsc other humans playing as the covenant.
It seems like they've found a good mix of strat and action to keep the pace moving quickly.
good job ensemble.
I assume you're trying to imply that's where MC came from....

btw the game (marathon) came came out 1994, and began production in 1991, before power rangers started in 1993...
as the characters from the jin-roh anime...

I don't understand the connection between size and innovation.
What was innovative was their oled technology.
Making something which already exists smaller is just a byproduct of time. you look at the latest versions of CRT's and compare them to early versions the latter look extremely small. Same goes with any technology, like computers.
there's nothing innovative about it.
you don't need to go any further....
it's a programming language, far beyond what mm was trying to do with it's gmod game.
It's nice to see microsoft take a risk and step outside the comfort zone on a large franchise. When was the last time we saw a mario FPS, or a MGS rpg? or a cod rts?
Even if halo wars doesn't score 'as well' as the other halo titles (reviews are subjective), it's still doing something more ambitious and innovative then any other title being released this month, on any console.
