someone can suck really badly at soccer, but they absolutely love the sport, and they play all the time.
Someone can suck at halo, but still love the game.
and conversly
I can be really good at my job, and still hate it
I can be great at boxing, but hate fighting
and the list goes on.
stop thinking in false dichotomies.
but love to watch it.
I hate tom clancy books, does that mean I suck at reading?
people have different tastes in things, I always felt that the mgs franchise was juvenille and the gameplay shallow.
Some people hate zelda, halo and mario, doesn't mean they suck at it.
people disagree, and have different tastes, get used to it.
I just can't for the love of me enjoy the game. I tried with MGS 2 and again with 3 and I didn't even bother trying to finish 4 with my rental.
Maybe my tastes have just matured a bit, I'm fine with something like beyond good and evil, or half-life, or even halo, but for some reason, I can't stand mgs(it just felt like a bad tom clancy book).
Also, you guys are douchbags for attacking a person because he doesn't share the same subjective opinion as you. You shoul...
but do you also own a dictionary?
halo was extremely groundbreaking, but no-one would ever admit that.
the problem with halo 3 was that everything had copied so much from halo that halo 3 just didn't feel original.
But this is off topic to begin with.
it's not setting the bar high.
What is it setting the bar high on? graphics? Something that's still far surpassed by the likes of crysis.
Every frame of the game I've seen it looks like gears of war in first person with a different enemy. It's nothing new, and that's what It's being critizied for. It's nothing particularly new or interesting.
story wise, it's okay, but after playing the first one I was disappointed buy it. The ai leaves something t...
but conversly there are many games for the 360 you can't play on the ps3.
They don't just "buy" exclusives.
what they do is have an inhouse teams that develops IP's for them, and then hire 3rd party developers to make the games.
For example, project gotham racing is an IP that's owned by MS but was made bizarre creations. MGS(microsoft game studios) still owns the IP though. you'll see this happen with a few other titles like their mech warrior and crimson skies games. And it's the same way that nintendo works, like how rare ...
they're so self purpetuating.
I mean, the only reason we talk about the next xbox is because some stupid site wants to get hits by making articles about what the next xbox might be like. Not because the next xbox is actually coming, but just because there's some stupid site that wants hits.
I'm sure if we had a bunch of PS4: Every Myth, Speculation... etc as much as we had for the xbox ones (like those Xbox 2011? leave me out) we'd start to think the next plastat...
Criterons renderware engine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
it was a great engine.
as great as the unreal engine is I find that it serves specific purposes, like making dark gloomy enviroments. But I agree, a lot of it seems to be just copying everything.
Mirror's edge will be a nice change for the unreal engine.
isn't thier engine the quake engine? At least i thought that's what they used for cod5, a heavily modified quake 3 engine.
I doubt either is maxed out, and the 360 has many great upcoming ip's that I'm extremely excited for, and a much more diverse and lineup of games than for my ps3 (which ironically is loaded with shooters, resistance, killzone). Sure the ps3 has finally had it's first block buster but what's next? (please don't give me a list, rhetorical question)
As great as the ps3 is (which I absolutely love btw), it's been a desert compared to the 360 in terms of a steady release of high-sco...
and is on it's way to lapping it.
would be absolute pwn.
but a lot of what exactly happened to get everything started wasn't explained.
but a bit more rts and a bit less strat-rpg/card game.
I'd rather do a bit of tech, building. Let me make and develop things like nanotech, mkII's, gekko units.
What would be really fun is to have an online version of the game which played like natural selection, one commander, and a bunch of players as pmc's collecting resources to upgrade nano-tech and get new weapons.
good timing.
they need to do something while "playing" mgs4...
I never have any problems in halo 3. For me, halo 3 plays better then almost every fps I played over a server.
Servers = closest player wins, or players with best latency wins.
P2P = host has a slight advantage, everyone else is equal.
plus, p2p networks never die unlike dedicated server, once it's gone, it's gone for good.
So that I don't have to save frog from dying every 3 seconds.
