My pc can run half life a lot better than it can run half life 2... Does that mean half life 2 sucks? No, it means that hl2 has been improved and as a result it requires a new, more advanced technology.

Thats the same concept with windows xp vs vista.

However the real question becomes, is the preformance cost significant enough to warrent the advantages of vista?

Why work hard and produce something people might buy when you can make a simple port that will be bought by a bunch of people.

It's more a question of how apathetic consumers are.

But I don't doubt that the game will have it's share of problems. But i'm still going to love the game because the more i hear about the title the more it sounds like diablo. I'll miss the four player co-op but who knows, they can always patch it, and maybe they can put in some form of arena.

Either way, knowing silicon knights the story will be amazing and hopefully they can start work on a sequel to eternal darkness.

but the 4870 also ingest lesser cards put near it.

when the 4870X2 comes out and obliterates everything in the 200 series.

why is it that whenever I read about ps3 games people always say "alpha build"

killzone 2 is not in an alpha build
resistance 2 is not in an alpha build
this is not an alpha build. (yes I know it says "alpha build", it's not trust me, alpha builds usually aren't playable, in this example the game is in an alpha stage of it's development cycle but the screenshots are more or less a reresentation of a final build)

dx 10.1 support, it provides a steady 10-15% preformance increase over dx 10 in high detail tests and that's something I'm always willing to use.

if you want a cliche story, mgs is full of nothing but. Not only that it does cliche writing to the extreme, everwhere you look is overdramatic writing, full of hot air philosophy that can be found in any tom clancy book, you get the managa rip offs and the list keeps going.
