SE did the same thing to nintendo when they put ff7 on the ps1.
you've played virtual sports using the motion controller...
you've made virual food using the motion controller...
you've played virtual carnival games, virtual driving, virtual running, virtual... well everything you could possibly do in real-life that requires physical movement we've pretty much made.
now experience!
wii work, where you preform the same action in your home as you would at work, stuff like waitressing, chopping down tree's, and shooting pe...
sony announced a delay on home, showed lbp and r2, and then did trailers for 2 games using cgi.
It's good, but teaser trailers in cgi just don't cut it anymore.
Nintendo didn't do anything.
MS showed their new online with avatars, netflix, etc. Showed some third party titles like fallout, exclusive fable 2, gears 2. And showed a montage of upcoming games like banjo, halo wars... Also announced ff13 is multi.
Sony had the best presentation, M...
But at least I know that they're working on something, and it's ready to be shown.
Hopefully it will come soon, I'm sure whatever it will be will be absolutely amazing.
can't wait to play it.
there's a speed run of someone finishing the main quest and all guild quests in under 15 hours, got paid 300 dollars.
that seems like the standard affair for games.
but like mass effect (12 hours) this game will have many a side quest, playing relator, and being replayed to have different endings, and as good or evil.
and it has multi-player.
halo 3 is more technically impressive then uncharted...
Because if it's net code.
I'm using technically impressive to comment purely on the polygons pushed, resolution, and what we see on screen.
Deferred shading is a technique, techniques aren't more technically impressive than one another unless it can only be selectivley prefromed. And deferred shading is something that has been around since 1988, nvidia has a good paper about it with regards to...
I read that paper, I also did a lot of research into deferred rendering and I know how it functions.
What's you're point?
you're also a games artist, I'm a third year computer software engineer working on a degree and looking to enter the field... you can use as many techniques as you want to draw a circle in the end the cirlce will always look the same, just because they use deferred rending techniques to achieve an effect doesn't mean that it's technically any...
I feel the same way with regards to killzone, I just don't see what makes it look so special.
Other then the funky lighting and lensflare effects, the gun models and some of the animations it doesnt seem to be any different for me.
linux>mac osx
zen > ipod
blackberry + ds > iphone

ever played haze?
lets just say those guys aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.
I agree somewhat, The moment i saw the part where the enemy is like 5 feet away and starts running directly at the guy instead of shooting I was like.
wtf.
but at the same time we have no idea what level they're playing the game at. It might be novice, and the hard ai might be a lot better.
we have to wait and see.
gears 2 looks like killzone 2.
http://www.gametrailers.com...
i mean, it looks identical.
wasn't a dissapointment.
that's like saying mgs4 was.
Halo was made for the fans, and the fans love it.
there's one fly-through of a gears map that pretty much looks identical to this without the same lighting and it seems to be a case of the level design more-so then it's technical specs.
http://www.gametrailers.com...
if you set this at night and added explosions and smoke it could be a killzone level.
Using a lot of textures makes it seem busy as if there's a lot of stuff there, and ma...
to me Halo has moments where it surpasses starwars by miles, and other where it falls flat on it's faces.
the announcement of delaying the news came after both the confrences from sony and nintendo.
for the last time.
Mac STOLE THIS LOOK FROM MS.
they only published it first.
but it was marathon
the first fps to:
include ambient AI
include mission objectives
include multi-tier levels
include dual wielding
include enviromental effects
include secondary fire on weapons
include a level editor built into the game
include 3d graphics in an fps game
and guess what... bungie made this game in 1994. It's probably the most influential fps game ever made. Sadly, since it was on a mac not m...
