Want. So. Badly. 🤤

(EDIT: Planned for PlayStation VR sooner than later.)

@zeuanimals

Yeah, your first paragraph was smack dab on the money. The shortcoming of your concluding paragraph is you're not taking into account Microsoft could start letting some of the core franchises loose of the canon chain.

Regardless rather you personally think it's worth it, XBOX desperately needs to try something. And it's painfully obvious a slew of new IPs aren't on that list. Fact is that MOST—capitalized that word because I kn...

How in the world is this inappropriate? 🤦

Wait, "Isn't Acceptable Anymore"? When was it ever acceptable?

This is definitely an example of a video game that could easily be a box office success AS LONG AS Sony Pictures pumps plenty of TALENT and financial resources into it.

Director potentials:

Kathryn Bigelow, Peter Jackson, Jordan Peele, Guillermo del Toro, Christopher Nolan, Ang Lee

Actor potential for Nathan Drake:

Mark Wahlberg
Robert Downey Jr
Hugh Jackman
Tom Cruise
Matt Damon

Another individual who is literally just joking about being serious?

Call me a grammar Nazi if you wish, but I prefer to think of it as having conversation that doesn't lend to pyschotic breakdowns and other general mental disorders.

Words are the most powerful tool we have. Too many individuals improperly throw around phrases and terms that LITERALLY erode the bedrock of civilization.

@Lennoxb63 you keep using that word—I do not think it means what you think it means.

Yeah, that's what Microsoft needs most now—less focus on games and more variations of hardware.

This reminds me of someone moving to a new country and then complaining about all the citizens of that country liking their country.

No one is forcing you to be on N4G.com. Microsoft is getting the criticism deserved. Gamers are not hating on XBOX because it's a poor defenseless game platform, they're hating on XBOX because the company is negatively affecting the gaming community by lowering standards and indirectly belittling its fan-base.

Backwards compatible with a system that might as well only have two—TWO—worthwhile exclusives? I mean, I went to Google and typed in, "XBOX One exclusi....." and before I could even finish, Google burst out laughing, stopped me, and said, "Let me save you some time—get a PlayStation 4."

Yeah, no, eXBOX Deux being backwards compatible with this generation doesn't sweeten the deal. It just will remind gamers how barren XBOX One was.

Was tempted to tap downvote because the idea of a XBOX focusing only on Halo, Fable, Forza and Gears of War seemed stagnant. Then, however, I remembered how well it works for Nintendo and considered that if done correctly, and in unison with other innovations, it could turn the company around.

I despise Microsoft, but that idea could at least salvage its reputation in the game industry.

Sowing seeds? XBOX better fertilize the ground, put out scarecrows, plow fields and join a farmers' market or XBOX is going to buy the farm.

Yeah, Microsoft better be doing something major behind the scenes for next generation, because nothing is certainly going on for this one.

A lot of us were surprised when No Man's Sky announced going multi-platform.

@tehpees3

Sony doesn't need a "PR person" for the PlayStation 4. Dozens of millions of exceptionally happy gamers do just fine at that job.

When something is leaps and bounds above the normal expectation for a product, that product will be generously praised. 🕶️-->😎

There is plausible reasoning for both cases.

It was the same pining when the PlayStation 3 was towards the end of its cycle. A lot of gamers didn't like the idea of a PS4 coming so soon.

Look how much they don't want to let go of it now.

My guess? Sony has no intention of letting things cool down. With PS4 saturation rates so high putting a next generation console on the market sooner rather than later keeps things hot.
