Your eyes have a hard time noticing 720p from 1080p in 32 inch displays, if you increase resolution you get to a point that you have to get a 60 inch or 100 inch display to notice the difference, that point is the realistic limit of resolution.
A Blu Ray disc is a storage medium which can accomodate any data as long as it fits 50Gb, you could have an 8k resolution video perfectly, BUT Blu Ray format only supports 1080p resolution maximun, a format is the physical medium, the ha...
Thanks.
By the way it is a known fact that developers and manufacturers pay people to comment in internet forums.
Sony was once caught red handed with one supposedly gamer blog but in reality the domain belonged to a publicity agency at the employ of Sony.
But yeah, is poor Sony who receives all the unmerited hate. ;-)
But well it is funny at least, I prefer this to typical blogger ranting about system A being great and system B being horrible because the color is not compatible with his cat`s fur...
It is so tiresome when we have to constantly read about conspiracy theories against the PS3, all media is bought by Microsoft against poor Sony, that has no money and no power. That is incapable of pushing its own format or muscle its almost omnipresence into retailers worldwide, the Sony brand is in great peril!
One site is awesome one day when they bash Microsoft, and the next they are soldouts to the evil empire, Gameplayer AU anyone?
It is just incredible the...
The comparison is valid, not losing the focus of comparing multiplatform games and not exclusives.
Multiplatform development is easier on the 360 and usually gets better results, if you want really good results on the PS3 get ready for being an exclusive, have a long development time, have a massive team, and have loads of cash, if not your results will be lackluster, with resources, obviously, the PS3 shines.
But this is multiplatform development, optimised for g...
I dont care if he works for Sony, Microsoft, or NASA, his comments are inappopiate, period.
If you want to keep bashing the competition, tell it to someone that likes listening to barbling rants.
I am only commenting on what the article is about, an executive talking as a fanboy, not if what he is saying has an iota of truth or not.
Home will be what people make out of it, it is a social interacting application, so it main defining feature will be the user.
What I am amazed, is that nobody is commenting about the article, and the article is about not a fanboy, not a teenager who loves his console too much, but a SENIOR EXECUTIVE at Sony making these kind of remarks, these fanboyish commentaries are completely inappropiate of a mature and adult person, much less someone of the responsibility of Mr. Steinberg, they are SAD in capital letters.
That is what this article is about and everybody is ignoring.
Quite sad nobo...
That is because you feel the other way round? You love it because it is Sony and not Microsoft?
Blu Ray is "the" HD format, people can like it or not, now there is no discussion about it, the real danger against Blu Ray is "convenience", the mass market does not want quality, ask CD and mp3 about it, or super audio, or Laserdisc, or Beta.
I believe it will be a viable format, but not as succesful as DVD, just for cinephiles, sad but very possi...
The sheer fun of playing Halo with friends is unbeatable, one can like btter one iteration or the other, but the three games share common ground that make them extremely fun.
For me other shooters dont cut it, I play CoD4 or even Resistance for "killing time " ( bad joke ), Halo for fun with friends and competing over Live.
Gears was so full of glitches I cannot even consider it a fun game .CoD4 is full of lazy "campers", Halo is funnier for m...
Could it be related to the story about New Mombassa in the Halo Graphic Novel?
You know that CoD4 runs at a similar or even less resolution than Halo 3? Just pointing it out.
Anyway, I loved the lightning of Halo 3, graphics lacked a bit of punch, but I am disgusted with all this desaturated color palettes of new games, and all this gritty style everywhere, it seems the game is cooler if it feels more depressing, I would like more realistic colors, not cartoonish, but with a bit more saturation and, yes, life.
Nice comment, very political correct, but criticising Halo 3 is easy, it is a finished product on the shelves for a year now.
Praising new games, be it Gears 2 or Killzone 2, or arguing the pros they have versus Halo 3 without being released yet is what I am not so sure and not so fond.
When they are on the shelves, we will compare and criticise, but not now, thats me at least.
I can understand the point in the article, yes having an expansion, and it seems a big one is cool, but so much hype, cancelling, rescheduling and rehyping for anything less than a new game is a bit of a letdown.
Anyway we will see.
Well if people make a fuss about minuscule details in comparison videos, the quality of a good HDTV makes an infinite difference.
This LG model is fine, but fot that price and in that size there is only one option, the Pioneer Kuro, is the best HDTV bar none.
Good for Microsoft, they deserve it. A more level playing field in all territories in the world is better for us, consumers and gamers.
It seems more and more as an expansion to the campaign, those Mythic skulls could be in there and everything should fit together...
There is another pic much more clear, the date seems quite possible.
What I dont understand is why MS decided to cancel this announcement at E3, it would have been cool really.
You should try and learn how to read before bashing other people's comments.
I said, that Blu Ray as a storage medium is prepared to contain ANYTHING, reread please, BUT the format right now DOES NOT SUPPORT more than 1080p, read the specifications of the FORMAT, not the MEDIUM, it is different things you know. In the future, it is possible, in fact it will be, that specifications, as they usually are, will be upgraded and the format will support higher resolutions.
