Framerrate is important for gameplay, especially in a shooter.

The framerate has always been smooth, since launch.

The game runs 90 fps in the background and renders at 60 fps... since launch. Hence, the extremely low amount of offline input lag compared to other games, especially other fighting games. It also helps the online rollback netcode run much smoother.

Outside of one glitch in Exhibition mode that was patched out at launch, both KI and Skullgirls STILL have the best netcodes out any current fighting game.

"I know for Combo Breaker which includes ONLY fighters, not the rest of the content."

Do you know ANYTHING about Killer Instinct?

The "fighters" are basically the ONLY thing in the game you pay for. And since the game is free with a rotating character, you pretty much don't even have to pay for them.

Every mode in the game, whether it's ranked leagues, the Shadow AI lab, or whatever e...

"Man did killer instinct have sites like forbes making dumb articles saying its the end of gaming? What KI backlash? All I remember is xbox fanboys praising the game acting like its the greatest fighting game of all time. "

Is this a joke?

Something tells me you didn't do much "looking":

@Chevalier

In KI, you could play every character and every mode in the game, whether it's online or offline, for free. Both at launch and currently.

SFV still has a $60 entry price.

And I find it weird that you and others keep bringing up KI in comparison to SFV, since KI ALSO got shat on on release for the SAME reasons.

3632d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

A couple things.

1. KI DID get backlash.

2. KI was F2P.

3. KI launched with 6 characters.

4. KI season 1 ended up with 8 characters total.

5. KI season 1 was $20. Not $60.

6. KI is currently $40 for 17 characters. Not $60.

7. KI launched with a full CPU arcade ladder

8. KI launched with a very detailed tutorial mode.

9. KI actually launched w...

@exkalibur97

Season 1 (which ended up being 8 characters total) was $20.

Not "49.99"

$40 got you everything in Season 1, plus premium retro skins for each character and an upgraded port of the original 1994 Killer Instinct arcade game, with extra features and full online multiplayer added to said arcade port.

"Really?! Killer Instinct has 17 characters in season pass 1 and 2 and offers it at $59.99"

Uh, no it doesn't.

Where did you get "$59.99" from?

It's basically $40 for 17 characters. Or just $20 each season. And you can play ALL of KI, both online and offline for free with a rotating character. There's no entry price.

Did you actually read what's in that "Complete Collection" you j...

@KentBenMei

KI doesn't play anything like MK.

Also, KOF is team-based while SF is 1v1.

And what exactly makes Guilty Gear "sloppy"?

Didn't Daigo also play SFxT?

So why get a console, period?

Do you realize that the top 10 selling console games of last year were all multiplats that were also on PC?

The highest-selling exclusive game last year was Halo 5, which certain people here made fun for it's "low sales".

The majority of these games are only being released on Windows 10.

KI was F2P and wasn't charging $60 minimum. You could also play the whole game, including online, and every character (due to a rotating free character) for free. It was also $20 for everything.

It also had a full-functional vs. CPU mode.

It also had one of the best tutorials in a fighting game, up there with Skullgirls, at launch.

Outside of characters, all of KI's expansions are free.

You can literally play every single balance update, every single added game mode, both offline and online, and (thanks to the free rotating character) every single character without paying a single penny.

The only thing in KI you can't play for free are the arcade ports of the old KI1 and KI2 games, (which have added online multiplayer).

@rainslacker

How does KI have any less depth than Street Fighter?

Footsies, whiff-punishing, spacing, character/matchup knowledge, blocking and reads are still required. On top of that, fireballs in KI aren't weaker like they've gotten in SFV.

3637d ago 4 agree0 disagreeView comment

Not only was KI free-to play, it was $20 for everything in the first season. KI is currently $40 for 17 characters.

You can even spend much less than $20 by buying 1 or 2 or 3 characters that you want.

With SFV, you HAVE to spend $60 upfront.

There's no Super/Ultra/Hyper version of KI. Outside of characters, every season of KI is free. Every single balance change, UI update, gameplay change, gameplay addition, or added game mode is comple...
