If they don't buy another PS3 or switch gaming platforms they're eventually going to upgrade their firmware to play an awesome game.
That's why Sony ships games with the most up-to-date firmware.

Yamaichi said there will be no DLC for Gran Turismo 5 because everything that should be in the game will ship on the disc. He also said that Gran Turismo 6 will not take as long as GT5 because they will already have their technology established. GT5 took five years, so two years will not be far fetched, especially if you notice the trend of two Gran Turismo games per PlayStation console.

I'm a PlayStation fanboy and I'd have to agree with you on that. Sony has nowhere near the amount of money Microsoft does. They can't compete when it comes to money so they can't just buy out exclusive games and make them multi-platform. They have to win people over.

The problem is that they have to compress all their files for it to work. Meaning they have to put less into a game.
Meaning DVDs restrict developers.

Casuals will jump on Kinect after Microsoft doesn't make it clear that Kinect is just an Xbox in their commercials, and already has them in the store comparing an Xbox bundle for 300 with a Move bundle for 400.
Killzone 3 is running at 120fps with 3D shutter technology, and still looks good. Imagine if they didn't compromise the graphics.
