Loophole still works, just have to buy one month of Gamepass at full price.
They won't lose on anything in the short to medium term. Microsoft dont have any intention of making it exclusive, just like they didnt have any intention of making Minecraft exclusive. The franchises are just too big to not release on the dominant platform.
None of what you listed is what constitutes a monopoly, the onyl one comes close is your second accusation that Microsoft hasn't come near to doing.
Even if every Cod player on the planet left Playstation 4 and went to Xbox one, the PS4 would still have stomped all over the Xbox saleswise. Theres more people on consoles that dont play COD than do.
Good to hear but really what developers don't know that this is hated by everyone?
@Derek The filling is litered with direct quotes from the CMA that microsoft have used to support their arguments, in effect giving us a look into what the CMA think.
It contains written comments from the CMA that are quoted by M$.
COD wasn't always the king, Sony has all the tools at its disposal to make the best shooter and system seller in the industry.
The whole filling is very interesting reading. CMA don't seem to have an issue with Microsofts impact on Sony here, agreeing that the remedy suggested is sufficient and holding up examples of other 10 year or lesser deals that were deemed sufficient in past cases;

Microsofts fillings have released new CMA comments today as well, they don't seem much bothered about the impact on Sony;
"the [console] remedy would equalize the CoD content available across PlayStation and Xbox (i.e., PlayStation gamers will no longer receive content advantages that Xbox and PC gamers do not receive)".

This is a good thing for consumers, Sony will follow suit as soon as the monopoly stranglehold that Apple and Google have on mobile is broken. Look how much Final Fantasy games cost on Ios and Android due to how little competition or incentive for competitive pricing there is.
Ok but assume every single person who buys cod jumps ships to M$ and leaves PlayStation. The Ps4 still outsold the xbox one by way more than 15 million. Its a big chunk but PlayStations value is so much more than just COD.
Nvidea now support the deal since they got their deal with M$

If Microsoft paid for exclusivity like Sony had FF16 I guess 🤷
Sweet look forward to trying it. And yet another case of M$ continuing to support and update content on games released outside of their platform...
Sony will get COD whether they have a deal or not. No one in their right mind can think that they aren't going to treat it the same as Minecraft. Too much money left on the table if they don't. Now if they don't sign the deal I can see map packs and like DLC releasing earlier on MS but I can't see COd ever not being a multiplatform franchise.
How is it anti-competitive if its released day and date, with feature parity as has been offered, with the option of Sony putting it on Playstation Plus if they want to? They would continue to make millions off of COD if they had accepted M$ deal.
The Xbox One which sold fair less of a share to the PS4 than the XsX has to the Ps5, accounted for 21% of FF15s first weeks share. If you as a business can't make that large of an increase to sales worth it for minimal return, then you are incompetent. But given its Squaresoft thats looking pretty reasonable.
Importantly only if this goes to court. If the FTC decide to drop the case then I don't think Sony has to provide the documents.
That game seemed perfect for PC
