Really interested to see how this continues to shape-up. When I first saw it, it immediately reminded me of Kingdoms of Amalur and I really enjoyed that one. Love how colorful and stylized the world is, combat looks good too, even at this early stage.
I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed both that and The Order: 1886. Not the best games every by any stretch of the means, but both fantastic looking, had good stories and were fun.
Just a heads up, DO NOT read this article if you haven't finished the game yet! If you have, well then we are interested to hear your thoughts on the game's narrative!
-Foxtrot,
I really think you don't get it...Kotaku hit baits all the time, but that's what people click on, whether they like it or not. I think your exaggerating your disdain for Kotaku quite a bit. They don't really lie about things like you make them out to be doing, maybe once in a while they post incorrect information and a lot of their stuff is clickbait, but they get traffic from it, and as shitty as it is, why would they stop doing it?
I am very surprised that we didn't see any actual Andromeda gameplay at EA's conference. Guessing they want to reveal it on their own terms at the time of their choosing, probably closer to launch, but still surprised me either way.
Please read our score guide below the review, we've recently updated what our scores mean to avoid score inflation. A 6 on our site is not a bad score in the slightest.
Super excited to learn more about this game. Was really looking forward to Beyond: Two Souls, but it just didn't do what Heavy Rain did for me when I played that game. Maybe it was because I went into Heavy Rain completely blind, but Beyond's story just really lacked any emotional punch that Heavy Rain did.
Yes, Horse Mythology is really interesting :) lol
I'm really curious to see what becomes of the boy he's travelling with. I saw some fan theories say that he might be Thor.
AI looks a little rough in the trailer, but if you check their Trello board that's one of their highest priorities to improve on. Really looking forward to see how this game shapes up, as the two developers are very excited about it. Bret was a great guy to talk to about the game.
You'd be better off hoping for the mods Skyblivion and Skywind coming to the Skryim remaster. Will offer updated experiences of both Morrowind and Oblivion if they're allowed to release on console.
Why does ROTR have to be "better" than Uncharted 4? ROTR is a fantastic game in its own right and certainly not a bargain bin game.
That orchestra was awesome. Some people didn't realize it, but they were doing all the music live for the God of War presentation, during combat and everything, and they also did the music live for the Day's Gone demo as well.
It will when PSVR launches. Pretty sure they said that a while ago, I'll have a look for the source when I'm done with an interview I'm doing right now.
@LordMaim
Oh, I'm not saying it's not OK for people to be excited at those things. It's basically the point of my article though is that we shouldn't be calling these Press Conferences anymore really. Showcases, or presentations is what they should be promoted as.
Some of the press conferences from Microsoft or Sony or even Ubisoft and EA, they'd stand up there and explain the new advancements in technology and stuff like that, and the...
As soon as Kratos appeared on the screen there were a lot of very loud shrieks ha. The Bethesda conference was also pretty bad, with one person in particular being very obnoxious about the screaming. I'm pretty sure that same person was at the Sony conference. Just takes the whole "I'm here to be professional about things" out of the equation.
Second part of the interview is going live in just a little bit. Full article is 7000 words so we decided to split it up for an easier reading experience.
I'm not sure "professional" is the right word. Obviously it was professional (no sarcasm intended there), but I think it was obviously designed to be an exciting viewing experience first and foremost with information to come later. I will say as an attendee of the show, the screaming fans in a "press conference" is pretty jarring and some people get really obnoxious about it too. Had a guy behind me literally clapping as loud as he humanely could right into my ear pre...
You're missing out on a fantastic game if you think The Banner Saga is trash....
We always try to keep our titles accurate!
