As far as I can remember, Sony has yet to NOT delay a major first party title...The Order, TLG, Gran Turismo, Horizon, UC4, Ratchet and Clank...the list goes on. Why is it an issue to ask that they be more conservative with their release date information?
If you want to compare, Microsoft announced Crackdown and Scalebound too early as well. But their recent track record of hitting major first party release dates is pretty darn good when compared to Sony. Gears of War: UE,...
@Eonjay
Yea, I'm certainly OK with Kojima taking his time and like I said in the article, it's great he's working on a new game. But, I think it might have served him better to at least announce a name and what the game is going to be like at a later date, rather than now when he doesn't even expect it to be out anytime before 2018. Just a personal preference though and I'm aware some people like knowing about stuff right away.
@Rimeskeem,
I'm aware. And Sony handles a good portion of the marketing for their first party titles. So maybe avoid providing tentative releases dates like Holiday 2016 before they actually lock down a specific date?
@Rimeskeem,
Sorry I'm providing an opinion on something that I care about and hope Sony fixes to avoid having games delayed all the time. And yea, it'd be nice if people actually read content by clicking on the article rather than reading the title.
Edit: Lol, because you disagree with my opinion, the title is flamebait. You seem to miss the point that N4G is an aggregation site and is here to provide you with content to read. If the title isn...
Agree with pretty much everything you've said. However, I do think, aside from maybe smaller companies that have yet to release their first game, most major game companies have released titles, and know how the process works.
Delaying a game is fine, there's no issue with that. Maybe if it's a few weeks or whatever to fix up something that cannot be done in a day one patch or whatever. But, when you start to announce games every year, have a trailer that says &...
Yup, I am. Because I talked about Death Stranding and The Last Guardian, two relevant titles right now. Not everything is Microsoft vs Sony vs Nintendo.
First report we've had of that on OnlySP. I will look into it. However, N4G has been giving people that report from the looks of it.
Yup, Attack on Titan came out, I think, during the last week of August. We've already got our review up.
Matt Nava is NOT the creator of Journey, he was the art director. And I don't think this author knows what a ripoff actually is. Bad review.
Really looking forward to seeing more from The Soul Keeper. The fact they are using an episodic model to build a story in an open world is really interesting to me.
I was told it would not when I talked with the developers at E3. No plans for it at the moment, and would be hard to incorporate with the very fast moving gameplay Outlast offers.
Good, means one less game I have to playthrough this fall haha. Plenty of stuff coming out, glad to see Red Barrels taking the time to really polish it up. Loved the first game, so have really high expectations for this one. What I saw at E3 showed great promise.
Well I did specifically talk about the campaign in my editorial. And I do play multiplayer ;)
I'm calm, don't worry. I call people out when they try to label me as a fanboy or whatever because I have an opinion on something. You're free to disagree with my opinion and I'd be happy to talk about it, no problem.
Gets annoying after a while because I don't care what system games are on, I just play games that I enjoy. Hard to convey that on the internet unfortunately.
@Melman26,
There's plenty of new stuff, never said there wasn't. The footage that has been shown from the game so far, just hasn't gotten me all that interested in the game. I even note in the editorial I'm not sure why that it is, so I've been reading pretty much everyone's comments to see what their thoughts are as well.
Yup dude, I'm the biggest Sony fanboy you'll ever find. I bleed blue. I even have PlayStation wallpaper in my house and a shrine with candles around it that I praise every evening. /s
Maybe if you read the first like, idk, paragraph of the article I specifically say that Gears of War is one of my favorite franchises.
Yea, I think I could have worded that better. What I was trying to convey is that they're going back and doing things that they have already done with the series, rather than doing something new. It just has me a little worried that they retread too much old ground, and not new. Dark and horror tone in the Gears of War games is fine though, I agree and prefer it that way. Keeps people from yelling "dude bro shooter" all the time haha.
Hellblade wasn't actually even at E3 this year. I inquired to meet up with them and was told they were not bringing the game to the show :| I'm really looking forward to it though, the tech they've shown and atmosphere they've built looks truly stunning.
Have you seen Breath of the Wild? That's Nintendo taking a risk on what is arguably their biggest franchise on consoles. They know they messed up with Wii U, or at least I hope they do. I wouldn't be surprised to see them adopt a more traditional publisher approach this time around with NX.
Where in the world are you getting this Xbox has no games bullshit from? Three major titles are releasing on the console in the span of around 8 weeks...ReCore, Forza: H3 and Gears of War 4. Some of you people are so delusional...I don't get why it's so hard to admit that Microsoft has been doing a great job lately. Oh right, it's because you're immature and get angry when people say anything critical about a COMPANY. It's honestly, sad.
Also, I guess s...
